The assistant looked troubled, glanced at Hannah, unsure how much of their earlier conversation Louis Snyder had heard.
The young man entered the room with his usual smile, softly asking, "Were you guys talking about something important, am I interrupting?"
So he probably didn't hear it.
Just when the assistant began to breathe a sigh of relief, Hannah chimed in, "Hmm, nothing much, we were just discussing how to trend on the hot search list by linking up with Mr. Qualls."
The assistant was dumbfounded.
Sister! Ancestors! Is this something to be spoken about in public?
The assistant felt like crying but refrained; she found herself stuck, unsure whether to stay or leave.
As she looked up, she met Louis's gaze. He usually had such a sunny disposition, but for some reason, he looked rather intimidating at the moment.
In the end, it was Hannah who suggested that everyone else should leave the room.
Once everyone had left, only Hannah and Louis remained in the room.
