Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Tiffany Lynch Returns to Her Country

Arnold Simmons strode away without looking astray. As he passed by Louis Snyder, he couldn't resist letting out a soft chuckle.

The laugh carried a hint of chill, so light that Louis almost thought he'd heard wrong. By the time he attempted to investigate further, the man was already out of sight around a corner.

The private club's hallway was not spacious, even slightly dim, as if purposefully designed to accommodate secretive encounters, laden with an ambiguous atmosphere.

As Louis approached, he noticed Hannah leaning against the wall, her eyes half-closed as if slightly under the weather, "Hannah, Hannah? Wake up."

Before his slightly cold fingertips could reach her face, Hannah opened her eyes.

Perhaps due to Arnold's early departure, the drinking gathering ended on a bitter note, and Louis had to leave ahead of schedule too.

Her eyes foggy, she gazed at the man in front of her. Her voiced choked with a sense of being wronged, "Louis."

The sound of her voice was soft like a kitten's, causing Louis's entire body to tingle.

Something was different about Hannah today, yet everything also seemed unchanged.

Hannah was like a well of pent-up grievances that finally erupted as she moved toward Louis, on the brink of tears. But Louis quickly supported her by her shoulders, maintaining a deliberate distance, "What's wrong?"

Attempting to contain her sorrow, Hannah's voice was slightly choked, "George broke up with me."

Upon hearing this, Louis was somewhat startled. He couldn't quite make out the knot in his heart, thinking how foolish Hannah must be to not even recognize if a man loved her. This outcome was foreseeable.

He knew what type of person George River was. He'd never fall for a substitute. A breakup was inevitable sooner or later.

The next second, Hannah lifted her tearful eyes, her voice a little hoarse, "Louis, Miss Lynch has returned to our homeland."

With these words, Louis could no longer maintain his earlier dispassionate façade, watching Hannah's plight as if an indifferent bystander.

The hand he had on Hannah's shoulder unconsciously tightened. His eyes reflected an uncontrollable excitement, mixed with a hint of nervousness and desolation. Only when Hannah winced in pain did he finally regained composure.

"Did you just say Tiffany... I mean, Miss Lynch is back in the country?" Louis suddenly lost his usual calm demeanor, his voice echoing with excitement and panic.

Hannah nodded, looking utterly desolate, "Louis, George doesn't want me anymore. I only have you left. You will always stay with me, right?"

She looked at the man in front of her, her beautiful eyes brimming with tears, like shattered crystals on the verge of collapse, filled with dependence and pleading.

It was as if the man in front of her was everything she could rely on in her future.

She could give him all of herself.

It's hard for anyone to deceive or refuse those pair of eyes.

After losing focus for two seconds, Louis suppressed his inner joy, his tone serious yet affectionate, "Of course, Hannah. You know I will."

The pretense of youthful tone was still pleasant. The young girl, who had received a promise, was immediately transformed from tears to laughter, oblivious to the kind of abyss waiting for her on the other side.

Both had been drinking, so they ordered a cab.

Until the sight of a 30 million ultra-luxe sports car parked in front of him, Louis still hadn't quite come back to reality.
