The day had been carefully planned down to the last detail. Lia had no idea what was coming, which made the surprise all the sweeter. I started the morning by bringing her a latte, knowing it was her favorite way to start the day. She smiled when I handed it to her, her eyes lighting up in that way that always made my heart skip a beat.
"Thank you, Gabriel," she said, taking a sip. "This is just what I needed."
"How about lunch later?" I asked casually, trying to keep the excitement out of my voice.
"Sounds perfect," she replied, her smile widening.
As the morning passed, I kept the surprise party in mind, making sure everything was set up perfectly at the camp knowing she liked mornings for homework. The decorations were up, the food was ready, and everyone was in on the plan, eagerly awaiting Lia's arrival.
