~Hunter~
The night was cool, and the flickering flames of the campfire cast long shadows on the patio. Gabriel and I sat around the fire, the crackling wood providing a soothing backdrop to the quiet night. The tension of the day's training was beginning to melt away, and we found ourselves in a rare moment of relaxation.
Gabriel took a sip of his drink, his gaze distant. "You've been acting strange since bootcamp started, Hunter. What's been going on?"
I sighed, leaning back in my chair. "It's complicated, Gabriel. There's a lot on my mind."
"Complicated? You know I'm here to help. What's going on?" he pressed, his eyes narrowing with concern.
I took a deep breath, knowing I couldn't avoid the subject any longer. "It's about the first day of bootcamp. You remember how intense it was, right?"
"Yeah, I remember," Gabriel said, leaning forward. "You were really focused."
Gabriel nodded, waiting for me to continue.
