As we ventured deeper into the facility, the sterile, metallic corridors began to transform. The harsh fluorescent lights softened to a warmer glow, and the cold steel walls gave way to muted colors adorned with bulletin boards and artwork, signs of life.
"Is anyone else getting a strange vibe?" Lucas whispered, glancing around.
"Definitely," Kale agreed. "This doesn't feel like an operational level. Stay alert" We all moved as one keeping quiet as we hoped to avoid security.
Doors lined the hallway, each marked with nameplates or numbers. Soft sounds drifted through—muffled conversations, footsteps, faint laughter. A blend of antiseptic and something distinctly non-human filled the air.
I inhaled deeply, letting my lycan senses parse the scents. Beneath the surface, I caught the unmistakable scent of others like us, but younger—teens, perhaps.
