Chapter 2 - Just Run.....

~Azaria~

I had been running for at least two hours. The feel of earth under my feet was welcomed after walking on that smooth tile the humans used in their structures. It smelled odd and the forest smells and feels soothed my heart and mind as I ran. The longer I stayed in nature the stronger I felt and the corners of my lips began to point upward into a brilliant smile. I felt the rush of energy as I ran deeper into the forest following the pull that told her where home was. I ran faster and faster now whipping past the tress at an unnatural speed. the adrenaline still coursing through my body with the energies from the forest made me feel almost euphoric. I started to laugh like a child with glee as I ran.

but a flash of something moved in the corner of my eye. "no, no, no they couldn't have found me yet!" I thought as panic raised in my chest but in the very next moment the smell of vanilla assaulted my senses and I came to a complete halt.

a cloud of dust surrounded me from stopping so abruptly, obscuring the surrounding view. I shouted "Show yourself now or I'll kill you before you know which way is up!" I felt a breeze and a warm breath caressed my ear along with that heavenly smell and I instinctively sighed "Now why would my beautiful mate want to harm me...." his hand trailed down my arm but another breeze passed by me and I could hear his laughter echo all around me, he was playing with me, but I didn't flinch a bit. My mind was screaming for me to run. The dust started to settle and his form began to reveal its self, his coffee skin almost glowing in the rays of sunshine peeking through the canopy. his hair was cut short but I could still see the tight coils beginning to form, he was naked and his torso covered in tribal tattoos. My breath hitched taking in this astonishing man.

the sound of barking dogs in the distance snapped both of us out of our trance and in that brief moment of his distraction I bolted once again "noooooo this isn't the time! why do you torment me so!" I groaned at my thoughts directed at the creator "why this was happening now of all times! it wasn't suppose to happen like this!" the movement of him chasing hme glinted in the corners of my eyes again and before I knew it I heard his deep voice resonate in my head sending chills down my spine

"Come this way, I will keep you safe and I can mask your scent if we stay close together."

I glanced over to see a massive wolf striding beside me, his fur shimmered almost seeming to blend perfectly with the forest, too well, he was almost invisible! if it wasn't for the air moving past me and his delicious smell of vanilla I wouldn't know he was there. a smile grew on my lips, that was my mate! He is a werewolf and a fine specimen of a man, he probably had a line of women waiting to get in his bed. I frowned at the thought and as if he could read my mind he huffed "oh my mate is a jealous one, I guess ill have to show you I have eyes for only you now when this run of ours is done" I glared at him but remained quiet not wanting to encourage his ridiculous idea. Jealous! I doesn't even know him! I glanced at him and caught a glimpse of his magnificent wolf and my thoughts took me back to when I saw his human form. Those eyes, grey like steel, he looked hard as steel too. My cheeks began to blush and my belly fluttered with butterflies. He blew air out his snout and mad a sound that sounded like it was laughter. I blushed even worse now and kept my eyes straight. I considered I might be going crazy. I had seen plenty handsome men but none ever invaded my thoughts like this. its this what the mate bond does? I wasn't sure if I liked that idea or not but it wasn't doing me any favors at the moment. They hadn't even kissed yet! I groaned but otherwise kept quiet.

I nodded and followed him after a moment of thought. He was as fast as me, if he wanted to harm me he could have by now. I had a feeling that he meant what he said, I could feel his sincerity warming my heart. I quickly nodded and followed the wolf as he veered eastward, much deeper into the forest where the trees became closer and closer. The pull in my chest pointing towards home, changing direction.... to him. That wrenched facility gone in the distance. All I needed to do now was just run....
