Chapter 30 - 30. Price of materials

After testing Special glass, Mr Shrikant took the sample of super steel alloy. He again tested all the parameters of the steel. When the test result came, It blew the minds of all the researchers.

"Hey, it far surpass even titanium alloy."

"Are you kidding me? Titanium alloy, Its melting point is only around 1600 degree and this super steel alloy's melting point is more than 2500 degrees."

"Yes, it can satisfy most of the high temperature resistant materials requirement at present."

"It is great breakthrough and on top of that it is made in our country."

"Yes, I just fell so proud, that I cannot speak in words."

The researchers in the laboratory were very excited watching the test parameters of the glass, bearing and Super steel alloy. As it is a very proud moment seeing a product which was made in own country far surpassing the world's level and it is two products which were made at the same time.

It took nearly 10 minutes for them to calm down.

"Ajay, I will report this to my superiors. There will be a big order from the military definitely, I know. I will come to Mansa to talk in detail in a few days." Colonel Abhey was also excited, he knows the use of these materials, weapons, tanks and armours all will be upgraded by one level.

"I will also talk with my superiors, we will also need these three materials for different things. We will also contact you soon regarding the purchase of these materials." Mr Shrikant also said from the side while nodding his head in both agreement and satisfaction.

"Now, I know the total output. What is the production cost, and how do you plan to set the price?" Colonel Abhey asked from the side.

"Well, The performance of our two special glass and super steel alloy is very advanced, which contains a lot of new technologies. In addition, some rare minerals must be added in the production process, so the price is not comparable to that of ordinary materials.

According to my calculation, only in terms of raw materials, it is more than ten times that of ordinary high-temperature resistant glass, especially the second minimum softening temperature of more than 2661 degrees.

Its production cost is about twenty times that of ordinary special high temperature resistant glass. In addition to research and development and production costs, the price of this glass of ours will be at least twenty times that of ordinary special glass.

Take the one millimetre thick flat glass for example! According to our calculations, the cost price of our glass has reached about 25,000 rupees per square meter, plus labour and research and development costs, so I temporarily set the price at 50,000 rupees per square meter, if it is 2 mm If it is thick, the price is 100,000 rupees per square meter, and so on.

At the same time, if the structure and shape of the glass are more complicated, the additional price will be higher. The specific calculation needs to be done at the time. I don't know Mr Shrikant and uncle Abhey! Can you accept it? " Ajay said.

Ajay set the price slightly higher as he needs the money urgently as many projects are pending due to money shortage.

"Then for Super steel alloy?" Colonel Abhey asked after hearing the price of the Special glass.

"Like Special glass, there are many rare materials used in production of special steel alloy, so the price will be slightly higher. The cost price of Steel alloy is around 12000 rupees per kg, So we set the price at 25000 per kg."

Mr Shirkant nodded. He was not surprised by Ajay's quotation. After all, this is a new technology and new product. The price is naturally not comparable with ordinary special high-temperature resistant glass and Special steel alloy, plus R&D and other expenses.

In Mr Shrikant's opinion, the price is actually a bit low. After all, in the current aerospace glass market, the price is not cheap, and even more expensive than the glass produced by Future Tech. The price reached tens of thousands per square centimetre. The price of a piece of slap-sized glass reaches hundreds of thousands.

As for alloy, Just Titanium alloy's price in India is 7500 rupees per kg and the special steel alloy far surpassed the Titanium alloy in load bearing capacity, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, wearing and tearing.

Therefore, in their opinion, the price of both glass and alloy are very cheap. They naturally have no opinion on the price, so Mr Shrikant said: "Ajay! I have no opinion on the price you mentioned."

"I also think that it is not a problem. And your production capacity is too low. India is developing at a very fast pace, so we need the material in a large amount. As our army is the second largest in the world, so consumption is also huge. So, try to increase the production capacity." Colonel Abhey also said in agreement with Mr Shrikant.

"Yes, not only DRDO and military, Aircraft, Aerospace and other industries also required large amount materials, especially ISRO, they need these materials to make rockets, rovers and satellites. So try to increase the production capacity."

"Ok, we will add a few more production lines soon. Then I will wait for you in Mansa City. See you soon."

"Ok, see you soon." Colonel Abhey and Mr Shrikant see off Ajay to the gate.

Ajay along with his chief engineer entered the car and moved towards Mansa City.

"Sir, why don't we make more advanced materials?"

"Hmm, Can we make more advance materials?" Ajay asked Chief Engineer who was sitting beside him.

"Yes sir, there are two more advanced materials than these materials."

"OK, we will slowly upgrade the materials. If we suddenly introduce the materials which is 50 years ahead than present, everybody will be suspicious of us. As the saying goes 3 or 4 years ahead is genius and a decade ahead is a monster and we are more than half a century ahead then what will we be called."

"Yes sir."

"And we need the world to slowly accept our constant new inventions and continuous upgradation."

"Yes sir, I understand."

"And the fun is not reaching the destination. The fun is in the journey to reach the destination."
