"Did you know these people?" I asked.
August sighed, cleaning his glasses and putting them back up to look at them again.
Then he closed his eyes and massaged his forehead.
"Yes…" he sighed melancholically. "They… they had just started working as adventurers only a year ago."
"Oh…"
"It was as big party of eight too," he sighed. "They were confident that numbers meant they could survive better. They were… well, three of them were childhood friends… the rest were all recruited over the year. All of them coming from smaller villages to the big city with even bigger dreams."
"That's so sad…" I sighed.
They looked a bit like us, there was even a girl with red hair, a boy with green hair, dwarves and demons made almost the entire party, there was a human though.
I wonder, if we hadn't been born with our families, with the powers we were granted and the talents we had.
Would our fate have ended like them too?
