Tower of Babel
Within a large well-lit room at the highest point of Orario, a large number of gods have come to attend the emergency meeting that Ouranus has decreed.
However, even with that much attendance, chatter cannot be heard inside as the seriousness of the situation that they're facing is beyond grim.
Earlier an unknown god launched an attack at the dungeon that caused the advancement of the Promise Time at a much earlier time.
And no one knows who the culprit was as all gods have been forbidden access inside the dungeon that hated them.
But now it seems like some foolish one has breached the restriction and cost them their end.
"Who was it?"
A god suddenly shrieked in fear followed by more of them joining the mess.
"Tell us who was that stupid one killing their kind!"
The whole room erupts in chaos as everyone is now looking for someone to vent their fear and anger.
Until suddenly Hestia's chair was kicked towards the middle of the room by one of the gods behind her.
"It was her! My child told me that he saw that shrimp down there in the Under Resort!"
Hestia was surprised by the attack but she could barely react as the accusation was true.
Even knowing that the dungeon will surely retaliate after releasing their Arcanum, she still has done what she did in the heat of the moment like a stupid person as they said.
Slowly she can only stand up while hugging herself to protect against their assault while avoiding their furious gaze.
"Was it true Hestia?"
A deep voice abruptly echoed at the place deep enough to halt the commotion.
"Was it true that you invaded the dungeon and then released your Arcanum?"
Ouranus with his presence had brought back the silence earlier with just a question, daring those fools of god to continue their hubris.
"Yes, it is true that I have entered the dungeon and released my Arcanum, however, I only did what I have done to protect the child of my Familia and not to cause any harm!"
Hestia answered without trickery to show that it was not her intent; however, no matter what excuse she had, Hestia still bought the Promise Time upon them.
"Lie!"
"Liar!"
"Kill her!"
"Throw her in the dungeon!"
And true to her doubt, no amount of excuse can save her from what she did, even Ouranus was helpless regarding the issue as he is also but one god.
However, a sweet voice demanding attention broke their resentment.
"My, my, look at these foolish gods, I even wonder if you're one or not? Acting like hoodlums in this respectable gathering should be a crime punishable by death."
Freya, while looking down on the now deathly City of Orario, turns to them.
The once bustling Labyrinth City is now mostly devoid of life as merchants, visitors, and civilians flee away, leaving some of the adventurers who had tied themselves in their Familia and Dungeon.
"Like a headless chicken, you all have been panicking around demanding someone's life in compensation for something that can never be reversed."
Like being washed by cold water, they have been brought back to their senses while remembering in shame how unsightly they have acted.
"Instead, why don't we have a proper meeting as we should, what do you think Hermes?"
Like a kid caught sneaking around, Hermes awkwardly laughs while holding his fedora.
After reporting to Ouranus what he has witnessed they have looked for any culprit that they can find, however not even the god's Arcanum can be felt after the attack.
"Ha-ha-ha now-now I don't know anything about this but sure-sure we can ask Ouranus about the details."
Freya squinted her eyes at the edging god that was now halfway standing up ready to flee the place but was grabbed by the real squinting goddess that was now ready to pummel Hermes if he tried to escape.
"Don't you think the situation is grave enough for your joke, Hermes? I know you know something, as Hestia already told us about your little adventure."
Loki with her squinted eye now glared at the cowering god while being locked in place.
"And without your divine power can you still run off with your cute ass of yours?"
"Wha-waittt!"
"That's enough"
Ouranus intervenes before the real gunpowder explodes, while he can avoid those small fry around him, he couldn't just ignore and hide things from the two of the strongest gods in Orario.
And he knows that they already know the situation, but just leveling the field for a proper talk.
"Hmmph"
Loki snorts at the elder god before leaving Hermes heaving in nervousness, now that Ouranus 'I aM bEtTeR' is gone they could continue their meeting.
"Earlier Hestia and Hermes had gone down to the dungeon to save a child named Bell, however, an unknown god had attacked the future hero of our time David to death, bringing the Promise Time at our wake."
Ouranus waited for the surrounding hubbub to calm down before continuing.
"Yes, our hero has died and now no one is there to face the Promise Time down in the Abyss."
"Hahahaha! What's with those grim looks on your faces!"
Loki hysterically laughs while holding her stomach and clinging to her chair to avoid falling out.
"For so many years y'all did nothing but divulge yourself in alcohol and whoring around without care! And now y'all moping around like you have the right to!? Fk off!"
Her laughter ceased before throwing her chair in anger.
"If I ever survive this Apocalypse, I'll swear by my name that I'll kill you truly when I ascend, count on that."
Loki kicked the god beside him to take his chair by force, not even caring about the looks of fear in her surroundings.
Hestia was bewildered at the happenings in a short amount of time, at first, she was attacked, insulted, and threatened to die, but now Loki was threatening everyone to kill them all instead.
"Ummm I know that I am new, but can someone explain what is currently happening?"
"Huuuh?!"
Still annoyed, Loki shot a wrathful glance at her friend.
—--------
It was believed that the gods appeared and created them, however before the gods came there was but a man.
As a result, they have come to thank the land and the sky for giving them life, and for so many years they have prayed and thanked them until gods truly came into being.
Ouranus as the first of few gods has witnessed how gods after gods have been created, from the belief of a man as their shape until birthing them as a concept.
How man wished and hoped for a god of love and beauty, Freya came to be.
From a conviction of protection of their family, Hestia came to be.
From the creation of weaponry, Hephaestus came to be.
And many more have come into existence because of man, and like many other men, they have wished for many kinds of gods.
Until the idea that they themselves have created truly became their gods.
Until the gods that they wished for at the beginning, were the reason for their end.
