"You have betrayed me, my dear," whispered King Luis with a crooked smile framing his face. "This is your punishment."
King Luis pressed a small rock against the hilt of the sword, and in an instant, a sharp iron rod made of pure silver covered in wolfsbane appeared and pierced through Leonor's back.
Leonor spat blood. King Luis smiled, watching it without guilt.
"Have a good rest, my dear," he whispered.
"Father?" Leonor's breath caught.
Leonor's chest ached. Not just because of a stab, but because who could do something like this to her? Tears trickled down; Leonor couldn't hold back even though she wanted to look strong in her final moments.
King Luis put his ear to Leonor's mouth, wanting to hear what kind of last words his daughter would say as a farewell.
"Yes, my dear?" King Luis whispered sweetly and softly.
"Wh... why... why w... why did you... do this to... me, father?"
