Thea opened her eyes slowly, cautiously. She swept her gaze around with narrowed eyes. Candlelight light in the room pierced her eyes.
Thea felt unfamiliar with the room she was currently in. Marc is looking at her face worriedly in a room with a classic design, smelly bed linen, and thick silk curtains.
"You –"
Before Thea could finish her sentence, Marc rushed at her with a kiss and a hug. Thea flinched in Marc's arms because over Marc's shoulder, she saw Genevieve clinging and about to pull Marc away from her.
"What happened to you while trapped in your subconscious?" Marc asked after loosening his grip on Thea.
Marc looked at Thea intently; in the next split second, when Thea gave all her attention to Marc, she saw Marc's bluish-green eyes not as sparkling as before. The alpha looked at her sadly, filled with emotion.
"There's Genevieve here," Thea whispered. "She clings to you right away when you kiss and hug me."
