Chapter 25 - The Lost Barbarians

"I'm sorry for dragging an object that was so precious to you when I was about to kill you," Marc said in Old Xaera. "I'll go back to find and get that thing for you."

Thea blinked. For quite a while, she was silent and looked at Marc fixedly. Putting the necklace in her grasp into the trouser pocket, Thea turned her head—looking at Esme and Julien in turn, then said, "I don't understand what he's saying."

Julien and Esme laughed. Then they both translated the alpha's remarks. Marc looked disappointed that Thea didn't understand his words, not even knowing the good intentions he said. Thea spontaneously threw a loud slap on Marc's left cheek.

Marc looked annoyed. Even when the alpha looked back at Thea fixedly, he clenched both hands on his sides.

Witnessing this, Thea looked up, returning the alpha's sharp and intense gaze. "Just hit me if you want," Thea challenged Marc. Handing her left cheek before Marc. "Think of it as a warm-up before killing me."
