Chapter 1 - chapter one - the beginning

Chapter one.

I watched as children swamped in into my compound and sat comfortably on the floor eagerly waiting for me.

I peeped at them from inside.

"Ah these children are really hungry for me to repeat the same story I've been telling me over and over again. Goodness, I fell so bad repeating it... I need something new." I complained to myself.

"Then tell them the story of..." I heard someone say behind me and I jumped in fright which made me lost my balance and I fell forward knocking the door opened and falling face flat on the ground.

"My lady."

"My lady."

Everyone gasped and some kids rushed to me and helped me.

"I'm okay. I'm okay." I assured and smiled sweetly at them.

Aww, they were so sweet to be so worried about me.

"I'm fine." I repeated.

"My lady, you really should be careful. If something happens to you then who would we force to tell us stories? Better take care of yourself cause we won't hear any excuses okay?" A fat and huge little boy stood up and warned.

I chuckled, "Wait, are you saying all these concern is not for me but because of my stories?" I asked amused.

"Of course!" Everyone chorused.

I shook my head. "Tsk tsk tsk. Now I don't want to tell any stories since I'm not loved properly." I threatened.

"My lady, don't do that please." A little girl who also came to my aid begged with her little angelic voice.

She was so cute with chubby cheeks.

Looking at her makes me remember who else has chubby cheeks.

Should I?

No no no! She's like a ghost. I might get in big trouble if she hears it.

I shook my head.

"Really? Are you sincere?" I asked.

"Yes of course! And my lady has anyone told you that you are absolutely beautiful?" She flattered me and I couldn't help but burst into laughter.

What an adorable child. They are all just so adorable.

"Alright alright. I'll start the story..." I began and everyone quickly rushed to their seats, everyone except the little girl.

"What's wrong? Is there anything else you want to tell me?" I bent down close to her and gave her my best heart warming smiles.

"My lady, could you tell us another story this time?" She requested and I froze.

I knew it. Someone is bound to ask for something new someday.

Oh gosh, I'm not an actual storyteller. I just know just one story. Now what will I do?

The girl waited for my answer but she kept pleading with me with her eyes, her innocent eyes. She was so adorable and I didn't want to disappoint her and make her sad. Her eyes completely melted me.

"Alright but give me a minute." I announced then got up.

Then I turned to everyone.

"I'll be telling a new long story. Everyone be back at my compound by six." I announced.

"What!"

"Why!"

"My lady!"

The children mummers.

"Because of my little friends suggestion, I'll be telling a different story." I announced. "I need to prepare and I want everyone to be here so you'll all have to pass the information for me okay?"

"Okay, My lady." They chorused then left obediently.

"Alright little girl, come back by six." I turned to the girl and said.

She smiled happily then ran away.

"So..." Someone said behind me again and I jumped in fright but this time someone grabbed my arm and pulled me towards them so I don't fall.

My face went straight to hit the person's chest and his chest was really hard.

I raised my head up to see who it was and found Bolin looking down at me.

"Oh my goodness, could you stop frightening me?" I yelled at him.

He shook his head, "No, you stop getting scared over nothing all the time." He rebuked.

I pulled myself away from him. "You're the one who doesn't make any noise while walking!" I blamed him again.

I smiled, "You're never going to give up."

I shook my head. "Never ever so don't even think about it." I replied.

"Alright then. So I'm guessing this means you won't disappoint your children right? You're going to tell them the best story right?" He questioned.

I knew exactly what he was asking.

I nodded. "There's no better or romantic story than theirs! It's all very action filled and the kids need to know about their nations history right?"

"Yes and I really want you to tell their love story but you know how Ming is? She'll behead you." Bolin warned.

"For what reason? She'll only do such a thing only with a reason and evidence. I won't give her any." I answered, a mischievous smirk on my face as cunning thoughts filled my head.

Suddenly I felt a knock on my head. "Your ideas never work. You can't do something stupid okay." Bolin warned.

I glared at him.

"I know that. Just wait and... Listen." I stormed off into the house while Bolin called after me.

Before six came around, my compound was already filled with people, not just children but mothers, fathers, young ladies and some bachelors!

Oh my goodness, this wasn't what I was expecting nor wanted.

Were all of them hoping to hear my story?

"This is putting more pressure on you isn't it?" Bolin question, he was concerned as I kept pacing around the house.

I turned to him and nodded.

"Now I really can't go back. They are all counting on me to entertain them." I admit.

"But why?" I asked.

"You fool, the way you tell your stories is what's different." He came forward and gave me a knock on my head again.

I growled at him. "That's the second time today!" I complained.

"It's as if it's all just happening before their eyes." He said and I gave him a confused look.

"What are you talking about?"

"You're stories, the way you say it is what they love the most which is why they've all gathered today." He explained and I shook my head.

"I'm still scared."

"Don't be princess, my princess is the best storyteller ever." He pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly.

I did the same as I buried my face on his chest.

He stroke my hair gently and it calmed me down a bit.

"My lady! It's time!" Someone shouted from outside.

"Oh Bolin, what do I do?" I asked.

I pulled me out and looked at me straight in the eyes. "Just do it as you would. Be yourself and they'll love it. I promise."

I nodded. I can't escape this anyways. Everyone was waiting and especially that little girl.

"Okay, I'm ready." I announced and he took my head in his and my heart melted at how sweet he is.

We walked outside and all eyes were on us.

Everyone cheered for me and we're smiling so warming that it calmed me down.

I looked around the crowd of people and I couldn't find the little girl.

"Over there." Bolin pointed at the gate and people were standing outside as well.

The little girl was on a man's back which I believe is her father.

She was still smiling at.

I turned to Bolin. "You always know what I'm thinking at all times." I called him out.

He smiled then knocked me on my head again. "Now start, you love to chit chat too much." He playful said then gave me a thumbs up before walking to the side to watch me.

With so many support, I was indeed very eager to start the story now.

Why wouldn't I go on now with so much love and support.

I took a deep breath then...
