Irene ran to the stream, and dipped her toe in the crystal clear water. With chilliness from the water spread through her body like electricity.
Irene stepped full into the water, as the mud underneath swirled up, making the water look dirty. Irene giggled in fascination, hopping like a rabbit on it.
"Girl! It's dangerous to jump like that. You will slip." An old lady who was washing her clothes a few feets away from her, warned.
Irene's face turned bitter as the lady scolded her and asked her to come out. Irene was not happy with the outcome yet she still followed the old lady's instructions and came out of the water, sitting down on the edge and cleaning the mud off from her toes.
Once cleansed, Irene put on her shoes and ran back to her parents. At the top of a small cliff, under a stout tree whose branches covered almost the whole cliff. It was always there where her father sat down to eat his lunch with his mother sitting down beside him.
