Azrael would be lying if it didn't cause her heart to skip a beat. She didn't show it to him though.
"I-..." Azrael tried to speak but August held on to her, "No need to speak. Let's hurry before they attack again." August stopped her from speaking further, carefully holding her as they walked out of that place.
Azrael didn't argue further, and let him help out. She kept an eye out on the surroundings, once they were out of the hut.
It was strange that a cadger was in the village, also that after attacking it just left. And she doesn't feel like her mana was drained at all. Could it be…it was not aiming for her but…him? Azrael looked up in August, unsettled, maybe the case.
Once away from the hut, August made her sit down beside one of the broken walls, letting her lean on the wall for him to check the wounds.
