Chapter 21 - (Part 2)

Xianwu flustered with their behavior asked "What are you both doing?!" Shijei pointed his sword over Xiao yin's neck as he asked "Who are you? And what are you doing near her?" his voice was cold and murderous. "Stop! Don't hurt this child?" Xianwu begged trying to free herself from Senlin's grip but wasn't able to. Shijei shouted "Tell me who are you and what are you doing near her?" Xiao yin sighed as he looked into his eyes. "Whoever I am… what does it have to do with the likes of you?" he replied mockingly.

"You!!" Shijei flung his sword over his neck. Xiao yin smirked as he threw the water barrel high up in the air. In a blink of an eye he grabbed Xianwu's arm and pulled her out of Senlin's grip landing on the ground together. Xianwu's eyes widened. Shijei with his brute force cut the barrel into half, all of its water fell over his head, drenching him from head to toe.

"Pfft! Haha…!" Xiao yin chuckled. His laugh was so hard, that he grabbed his stomach in pain and laughed nonstop. Xianwu tried to stop him but he laughed even louder than before. "Sister! Your lackeys are so foolish Haha…!" he complimented. Shijei was boiling in anger and his anger amplified with Xiao yin's words. Xianwu tried to calm the situation as she said "Okay! Calm down everyone. Shijei you don't have to hurt him, he is just a little kid! Please!" Xianwu asked pleadingly.

Shijei took a deep breath "Where in the world did you pick a rascal like this?! Look at his eyes even after he did all that there is no remorse in them?" he shouted in anger. Xiao yin clicked his tongue in annoyance, picking up the berries basket he smiled at Xianwu.

Xianwu was baffled greatly. Senlin walked closer towards the three of them as she mocked in her usual fashion "So… this is what you do after coming into the mortal world Hun? I think you know it better than myself in how many days you have to complete the mission or else the consequences are better known by you." Xianwu in disappointment could only nod.

Senlin looked at Xiao yin coldly. Xiao yin in return glared back. Something about that glare wasn't right, chills went down her spine as she pulled Xianwu towards her. "Xianwu… its better we talk about business." She ordered. Xianwu nodded in return as she took them inside the cottage. Xiao yin with a smirk spoke mockingly "Tch! Look at those heavenly lackeys, nobody taught them to respect other people's belongings. Sister… you bought the water with such effort and he wasted it all around. How about we welcome them giving a glass of mud?"

Xianwu was shocked. "Xiao yin?! I know you don't like them. But, why are you trying to dig your own grave continuously!?" she thought. But the 2 of them beside her were more shocked and gravely angered on Xiao yin's continuous ridicule. Shijei angrily roared "You scoundrel! You dare to lift up your tongue again? Do you even know who I am?!" This time there was nothing Xianwu could do.

Xiao yin turned around as he mocked in slight anger "No I don't! If you're really someone famous show me what you're made up off. Go and fill up all the barrels my sister painstakingly collected yesterday with all her might! If you think you being Heavenly Supremes can trample onto mortals like us. Then you have no need, coming to the mortal world and dishonouring yourselves or even dirtying your feet, and even if you do then, please realise a mortal human's hardships and sacrifices just to survive in this world. We aren't like you who live in extravagant palaces!!" Xiao yin took Xianwu's hand as he walked in the cottage. With his words everything went silent. Xianwu was startled by but never would have thought that Senlin and Shijei took a great blow as well!

Settling inside the cottage Shijei and Senlin seated themselves in front of a wooden table. Xianwu kept glasses of water in front of them. She eyed Xiao yin who walked inside an out collecting fruits. In Xianwu's eyed he looked like a little ant king who would go inside out to collect food, but, this was really not something she should think at a time like this! Picking up the scroll she sat down, in front of them.

Xianwu spoke in a light manner "The case this time is about many kidnappings of kids around the Spirit sealing mountain… I think you might know about it…?" she asked looking at them. However to her belief, the two of them didn't seem to pay attention to her at all as if their minds were engrossed onto something else. Seeing Xiao yin leave Senlin spoke up "Yue Xianwu… tell us, just who is this kid? His behavior is zero to the extent of disgrace. But what mostly shocked me is that how he recognised us as heavenly Supremes when we didn't even leak our appearance?!" to this point Shijei was interested in her words as well. The two of them sat closer to her.

Xianwu sighed as she explained "You both don't need to be so alarmed. He is just a kid who ran away from home and was lost in the forest, I found him yesterday night and he insisted on staying with me until he feels like returning…" Senlin and Shijei were not pleased with the answer as they asked together "And what if, instead of a boy there was an injured wolf lying around. Will you pick it up and keep it in your house as well?" Xianwu had nothing to say so she remained quiet. Shijei sighed in defeat "Oh don't even bother Senlin… with her sympathy for every single creature, she would've even picked up the wolf." Senlin still protested "Xianwu… even if he is a kid, he is still a boy. He is even more dangerous than a wolf! His eyes and his figure seem to radiate a wicked aura. I suggest you stay away from him."

Xianwu remained silent as she spoke up after a while "Senlin, Shijei… I don't think it's the way you think. He just happen to come from a noble family and seemed to like studying about these kinds of things, even if you think he is dangerous, the way he respects me and stayed with me last night. I don't think I could forgive myself if I humiliate or push him away like you told me to… so just take you minds off him and let's focus on the mission."

For some reason Xianwu felt annoyed. Who were they to ask her questions like this as if they care? Weren't they the first ones to leave her side? Moreover, she wasn't even a princess anymore who is need of being protected by them.

Senlin and Shijei were dumbfounded "You… what did you say? You let him stay with you for a night?!" the two of them slammed the table standing over her head. Startled Xianwu stared at the poor wooden table below "Um… I suggest you do not use brute force. My little cottage and its components are already so rundown…" however, before she could continue the table's leg went CRACK! And down crushing under the weight two Heavenly Supremes. The three of them stared below. "And, it happened…" she thought. Now Xianwu found it quiet conventional to answer their needless worries first "Is something the matter with it? Don't take me wrong Fa ling was with me, nothing happened."

Shijei and Senlin looked at each other and then Xianwu again. "Pardon me? And who is that?" Shijei questioned again. Disturbed by the uproar caused by the two of them Fa ling stood up staring annoyed. Shijei who wasn't even surprised asked "So… you even got a weird spirit struck onto you…" he sighed. Fa ling with a Humph! Ignored the two of them and went back. "And moreover, even he is a boy…" Senlin sighed.

Regaining her temperament Senlin slammed the sword tip on the wooden floor now, she commanded "Crown princess Yue Xianwu. Even after a 1000 years, you haven't changed a single bit! You might not care about yourself. But I…" she suddenly paused continuing "Anyways! I will find out who he really is and you have no right to stop me!" she said sitting down her face slightly flushed red.

"Are they worried?" Xianwu thought feeling relieved "Maybe working together wasn't as bad as I thought. But I do know something that my little rundown cottage won't last today." Xianwu sighed replying "Just like you wish… you can do anything to assure yourself, but please don't go overboard, just like I told you he is still a kid. If you harm him in anyway and he turns out to be a mortal. You would probably get a penalty in return. Now, if we are free from this conversation can we move on to the real task?" Senlin and Shijei responded "No need to recall us, we are aware of everything. Just tell us what to do next."

Xianwu nodded. "As you already know about the kidnappings, the only problem I have is that what sort of creature is it and that is the only mission we have. Moreover, what luck we have, tomorrow is the full moon night. The village has already concentrated itself so it's not that big. I am going to give you side to cover and we will surround it. Shijei will take the West and the northwest towards the forest and Shijei can guard the south and southeast. I have Fa ling with me so I will take the north where the river resides." She told.

"The children are mostly enchanted by some sort of spell they can't hear voices or calls. So we need to be really alert on which direction they move and one last thing. Anyone amongst us, if sees a child, they should follow it no matter what. If in any case we lose them we won't get a chance to find them again. Once we know where the children go, we'll surely see the culprit as well." She continued.

Shijei and Senlin looked at each other. Xianwu continued "Yesterday… when I saw how powerless they were and the fact they were ignored. I won't let this farce continue any longer." Her eyes confident. Shijei stood up asking "Then before leaving, we'll find all the ways and look over the situation around. We'll come back before dawn and then go together after dusk." Xianwu and Senlin nodded affirming.
