Three days later.
Logan and Daphne were sitting under a tree.
"Can't we just use a car?" Logan couldn't help but ask.
They had been running for a long time now and he was starting to feel a little tired of all the running.
"We can, but traveling this way is more fun. You get to see your surroundings and also train as well." Daphne replied.
"I'm not in support of that. I'd rather use a bike than go on foot." Logan shook his head. This was just tiring to do.
What was worse was that Daphne was faster than he was, so he had to push himself to the limit, as well as depend on his senses to locate her most of the time. There was a time he searched for her for over one hour.
"We've gone past multiple towns now, so there's that." Daphne replied with a shrug.
Logan had learned a lot during their three days journey. The majority of the world didn't know about supernatural beings, even with some strange cases appearing, they would always find another cause for them. It was as if they were trying to avoid it at all costs.
"How long before we get to this organization?" Logan asked.
"There's a branch in our county, unfortunately, it's on the other side of the map. We'll have to cross almost the entire county to get there." Daphne replied.
Logan brought out his phone, looking at the map, he realized they were only around halfway through the journey. He couldn't help but sigh in frustration.
"Alright, we should continue then. I need to return early." Logan said.
Daphne nodded and the duo continued their journey.
Four more days went by in the blink of an eye.
Logan and Daphne appeared before a small building that seemed to be located in the middle of nowhere.
Traveling through different towns for these four days, Logan experienced some new things. Two days back, he was attacked by a group of young vampires, all in Rank One or Two.
This group of vampires was apparently having 'fun'. After being harassed by them for hours, they finally gave up when they saw Daphne show her strength.
Daphne wanted to see how Logan would be able to resist them, and he did awful. He barely managed to hold his own against them. Well, this was attributed to the fact that he had to face multiple opponents. He was so irritated that he almost got to the point where he almost transformed.
He had also asked for Daphne's help in controlling his transformation. She had told him all she knew about werewolves, before telling him that the best way to learn about werewolves was from a higher ranked werewolf. This however, had a very slight chance of happening. The few other high Rank werewolves in their town had shut themselves away from the world.
Other than the threat of other werewolves and vampires, there are other things that could be said to be even more important than this. These things had caused the downfall or even disappearance of so many towns, some even went as far as causing a disaster in an entire county.
Most of the advanced werewolves and vampires deal with these. Daphne knew little about this, so she couldn't tell Logan about it, since she was not aware of the main dealings as well. According to her, the organization will only tell them once they get to Rank Ten.
Logan found this information a little scary. What sort of threat could actually cause the disappearance of an entire county? A town might be acceptable, but an entire county? That was not something he wanted to believe.
Unfortunately, it was none of Daphne's business if he accepted it or not. Since even she knew little about it.
"This is the famous organization?" Logan looked at the normal-looking building, a little disappointed.
He expected something larger than this, and since it had to do with supernatural things, it should have a certain vibe to it. However, this place looked like a regular building. It wasn't even as big as his house.
Daphne chuckled before saying, "Let's go inside."
When they walked into the building, there was only one person there, and she was standing behind a counter.
"Welcome to Spectre, how may I help you today?" The lady said.
"I would like to take him for registration please." Daphne said and brought out an ID card that she handed over to the lady.
The lady took the ID card, and after some time, passed it back to Daphne before bringing out a device for her to place her thumb on.
She did so and a sharp needle pierced through her skin, taking bits of her blood. The entire verification process took around 2 minutes or so. When the lady was done verifying her identity, she told Logan to place his thumb on the device as well.
Logan looked at Daphne who nodded to him. With that, he steeled his mind and did as instructed.
5 minutes later.
"This is a pass for him, but it will only last for today. Make sure he gets his ID card before leaving." The lady passed over what seemed to be an ID card, but it was very small compared to Daphne's ID card.
Logan took the item and followed Daphne. They headed into a room behind the counter, and an elevator appeared before them.
'There's an elevator here. Surely it only goes down.' Logan thought to himself.
This place was located in the middle of a deserted area. No sane person would walk this far, a human might most likely die on the journey here.
After getting into the elevator, Daphne placed her ID card on a small screen which scanned. 3 lights went on and it was access to the first 3 floors.
"Since you're still a Rank One werewolf, you can not go below the first floor, doing that comes with a penalty." Daphne explained as she pressed the number 1 button on the elevator.
