Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

"This is your plan all along, I knew it." The man said with a low growl.

"Have you seen yourself?" Logan asked with an odd face.

"You little piece of shit, tell her to let go now." The man ordered.

"Calm down and we will be able to work things out." Logan tried to get the man to calm down.

He naturally didn't want Daphne to rip out his throat. Even though he had killed people before, he wasn't really conscious then, although it affected him, it wasn't over the top. If he watched Daphne rip out this man's throat however, he might throw up.

"You're telling me to calm down, try saying that to the person who wants to kill me." The man growled, clearly not wanting to listen to Logan's words.

Logan knew the man was only saying this so Daphne would let him go, however, he would never agree to that. Letting the man out of the cell was a decision made solely because they had no way to contain him then. Once he gets irritated to a certain stage then he might transform into a werewolf which would be bad for them.

"Cass, I think we should go outside." Logan turned to Castiel.

The meaning behind his words was clear, Daphne could kill the man if she wanted. He just didn't want to witness the scene take place.

Castiel understood this and stood up as well. He had never witnessed someone being killed, and he honestly didn't want to.

While they were heading outside, the man cursed at them repeatedly. Logan paid deaf ears to his words and started to speak with Castiel.

He narrated what happened to Castiel, and Castiel couldn't help but pity the man. He killed his own family with his hands, yet he was unaware.

"Do you think he's unaware, or does he just not want to accept it?" Castiel asked.

"Why do you say so?" Logan raised a brow out of curiosity.

"Think about it, although he wouldn't be aware, he might see it as a dream. Once he sees how accurate everything was with his dream, he should be able to connect the dots. Not just that, but after you told him about being a werewolf, it would make everything click." Castiel said his thoughts.

"Could this be the reason he's acting like this?" Logan fell deep into thoughts.

"Not entirely, he's a psychopath, adding this discovery to it broke him." Castiel replied.

The duo stood outside conversing. A few minutes later, Daphne stepped out of the room, alone.

Logan and Castiel knew she must have already killed the man.

"Did you?" Logan used his eyes to point at the room.

"He's dead." Daphne didn't shy away from the question.

This wasn't her first time killing a werewolf, so she naturally had no problems with it. Logan and Castiel's expressions however amused her.

They exchanged glances before both walking out of the bunker.

Daphne chuckled when she saw this.

Outside the bunker.

It was already daybreak. Logan and Castiel could be seen throwing up in the bush around the abandoned building.

Even though they weren't present, the thought of Daphne ripping out the man's throat seemed to be playing repeatedly in their heads.

Daphne walked out to see them in this situation and was taken aback.

'Why are they reacting in this manner? I get it if Castiel finds it weird, but Logan has killed people before.' She thought to herself.

A few minutes later, the duo managed to step out of the bushes.

"You done?" Daphne asked.

"Yeah." Logan nodded.

"One moment." Castiel rushed back into the bushes.

After a few more seconds, he returned, "Yes, I'm okay now."

"Where can I find you?" Daphne asked Logan.

"For…" Logan asked with a confused expression.

"I already told you, we're going to the organization to get you registered. I can only divulge more information to you then. For now, all I can tell you are the basics." Daphne said.

"Wait, there are more mysterious things?" Logan was shocked.

Believing that werewolves existed was already almost the limit for him, if he were to find out that maybe mummies were real as well, he might go crazy.

"You have no idea." Daphne's reply scared him.

"I'll wait for you at the school gate by none. I need to tell my dad I'm going on a trip." Logan turned to Castiel, "Cass, you'll have to take my place at my place until I return."

"Alright." Castiel agreed to his request.

He wanted to head to this strange organization as well, but when he recalled when Daphne asked if he was a supernatural being, he gave up on it. Seeing this man made him realize it wasn't as easy as it seemed.

The man was ruined by something he didn't even ask for. There's also a chance that he might've died in the process of being turned into a werewolf.

"Okay, I'll take care of things here then wait for you." Daphne said.

Hearing this, the duo couldn't help but think about the throatless man and once again went to the bushes to throw up.

When they were done, they immediately went straight to Castiel's place to grab some clothes for him. By the time they got to Logan's place, his father was just about to head out of town.

There was a wolf attack in the next town, just close to the borders of the two towns and Mr. Smith was one of the officers assigned to investigate the incident.

Logan told his father about his trip, and with Castiel there to back him up, they produced a lie Mr. Smith had no time to confirm.

"Make sure you come back early." Mr. Smith said before leaving.

"Do you think that guy was the one who did it?" Castiel asked.

"Most likely." Logan replied, "Come on, I need to hang out with Steph before I leave."

He would be gone for over a week, knowing his younger sister, he wanted to play with her before he left.

Time went by in the blink of an eye and it was noon.

He carried a small backpack that had a few necessities inside. Only after promising to play with her when he returned did Stephanie let him go.

With a deep breath, he walked out of his house, heading to his school.
