Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

The next morning.

Castiel slept after Logan turned to his form once again. Daphne stayed awake all through, keeping watch. She had a headache looking at that middle-aged man who had only his torn trousers on.

This was the other werewolf that ventured into her territory. On a normal note, she wouldn't mind killing him since he might've caused some damage in her territory without Logan intervening, but being part of a pack made it impossible for her to do so.

Once the Alpha of the pack finds out one of his Betas has been killed, it might come hunting for her. Of course some Alphas have so many Betas that they wouldn't care about a few that were killed, but she couldn't take the risk.

Logan was the first to wake up, seeing Daphne he stood up and searched for Castiel. He saw Castiel curled up in a corner deep asleep, a soft smile appeared on his face when he saw this.

"Who's he?" He pointed at the middle-aged man.

"The werewolf you fought against." Daphne replied.

"I know. I mean, why is he still alive? If I recall correctly, you said you're the one who deals with them." Logan rephrased his question.

"I can't kill him. He's part of a pack." Daphne answered with a shake of her head.

"A pack, could his pack be close by?" Logan inquired.

"I can't be sure. He might be just like you, the only werewolf in his town. Unlike you, he was bitten by an Alpha, which technically makes him part of that pack. There are a few things I'm not aware of yet, I'll question him once he's awake." Daphne said.

Logan nodded before signaling for her to open the cell so he could come out.

"Oh right." Daphne walked over to the cell and opened it up. She sprayed something on the ground, and the effect of the juice of the wolfsbane died down for some time.

When Logan came out, she transferred the middle-aged man into the cell, locking it when he was inside.

A few minutes later, the man woke up. During this period of time, Daphne told Logan of her intentions to take him over to the organization.

She didn't get to go over to the organization because she was contacted by her father when she was halfway through the journey, and her father confirmed that the organization wanted Logan to be brought over.

"Where am I?" A confused voice interrupted the duo's conversation.

They knew it was the voice of the man who was inside the cell.

"You're in Dixon Town. Can you tell us where you're from?" Daphne moved closer to the cell to start her questioning.

"Dixon Town? That's so far from where I'm from. What, what am I doing here?" The man seemed to panic when he realized he was not in the town he was from. What he found appalling was that he had no idea how he came here, and what he was doing locked up in a cell by some teenagers.

"Calm down." Daphne stood up and said.

She could tell the man was getting anxious, and this might trigger a transformation from him. She was in no mood to deal with a werewolf.

"What do you mean by calm down? I was sleeping in my home but woke up in a cell over a hundred kilometers away, and you're saying I should calm down?" The man was getting more nervous as they spoke.

"Sir, is this the first time you're experiencing something like this?" Logan walked over to the cell and asked.

"This…" The man froze when he heard this question, after thinking for a while, he replied, "Actually, no. This isn't the first time I've woken up in another town with no knowledge of how I got there. But this is the farthest I've gone."

"Alright. How frequently does this happen?" Logan took over the questioning from Daphne.

"At least once a month, but there have been times it happened more than once a month." The man replied, thinking about it, he felt from Logan's questions, that he seemed to know what was happening to him, "Do you know what's happening to me? I feel like I'm losing my mind, sometimes I'll go to bed and wake up in a pool of blood, people ripped apart would be by my side."

The man was slowly falling apart, he didn't know what was happening to him, and this troubled him.

Daphne was taken aback when she realized although this man was part of a pack, he couldn't really be said to be part of the main pack. He was most likely bitten by the Alpha, and the Alpha hadn't even come back to check up on him.

'Which of those sick fellows would've done this now. They really need to be given a harsh punishment or else they would continue doing this.' She thought, annoyed by what was happening.

Logan looked at her as if trying to get permission from her to explain to the man what he was going through. She nodded and Logan went on to tell the man about him being a werewolf.

"Hahaha, you must be crazy as well. Werewolves? Those are just fantasies, do you think I'll believe they actually exist?" The man laughed, not believing Logan's words.

"How do you explain your situation then?" Logan asked, he was starting to get tired of explaining things to him.

"I have been suffering from short-term memory since I was young. The only thing I find confusing is what I'm actually doing in these places." The man said.

"Alright, I think he has lost it." Daphne whispered to Logan.

Logan nodded, agreeing with her take on the matter. A werewolf not in its right mental state is very deadly to set free. From the man's words, Daphne knew he had killed a few people, and not on a single occasion.

"Do you have a family?" Daphne asked.

"Family?" The man paused when he heard the words family, and he started to get agitated.

"I… I woke up to hear the news of them being ripped apart in the night. My wife, and kids, all died in a single night by a brutal psychopath. I swore to end the person behind their death." The man said through gritted teeth, shaking from anger.
