Logan headed straight for Stephanie's school after leaving his school. On getting there, she was already waiting for him outside with Castiel.
"Hey, sorry I'm late, I had to take care of something." He waved at the duo as he approached them.
"Okay, we should get going, I'm starving." Stephanie dragged Logan's hand.
Logan nodded before following her. Castiel was by their side as they walked to the nearest bus stop.
"Hey, are you alright?" Castiel asked when Stephanie gave them a little distance.
He could feel there was something different about his friend, and he felt a bit worried.
"Yeah, never better. Why'd you ask?" Logan asked curiously.
"Nothing, it's just, you were acting strange this morning, and afternoon as well." Castiel voiced his thoughts.
"Oh that, don't worry too much about it. I'm fine." Logan replied nonchalantly.
There was no need to bother Castiel about this matter, for now. He didn't know what happened, so naturally, he didn't have an explanation yet. He was attacked that night, but he was not injured, however, there was a claw mark on his shirt, which meant whatever attacked him was the cause, then there were also the bloodstains on the side of his shirt. If he wasn't injured, who did the blood belong to? And how come he didn't have a memory of what happened that night?
Everything was confusing as he thought about it.
They soon got to the bus station, and just as they were about to enter, he froze and looked in a certain direction. There, he could hear faint struggling sounds, as if someone was being dragged. Not just that, but muffled screams as well. The person's mouth was obviously closed, making them unable to make a sound.
"Wait here, I'm coming." He turned in the direction where the noise was coming from.
On getting there, he walked into a lonely alley, only to see two men dragging a young lady's body into a hidden corner.
"Hey, what are you doing?" He yelled and rushed towards them.
He was not a saint, but he couldn't turn a blind eye to this since he had already seen it. This young lady was most likely about to be raped, or even worse, killed by these men. If he didn't cause a scene, there was no way to help her.
Although he was going toward them, he was extremely cautious. He also made sure his scream was loud enough that those walking around heard it, attracting them there in the process.
Logan wasn't stupid, these people might be armed, so he didn't dare to get close to them, giving them a considerable distance while questioning them.
His voice naturally started to draw people over. The young lady who was being dragged by the duo had tears on her face with bruises all over.
"Kid, this is none of your business. I suggest you leave here now." One of the men spat on the ground as he said.
Even with the people being attracted here, they didn't seem to be worried about it.
"Let her go." Logan pointed at the young lady.
"Heh, you think these people can help her? A single word from us and they will all run away like scared dogs." The second man said before bringing out a knife.
"What are you trying to do?" Logan asked when he saw the knife.
Over ten people were already at the scene, Castiel and Stephanie included.
"We weren't supposed to kill her, but because of your disturbance, we will. Just take it that because of you, she died a gruesome death." The man with a knife smirked while roughly holding the hair of the young lady and using it to drag her up.
She tried screaming, but her mouth was tied, making it impossible for her, but everyone could see the fear in her eyes as tears ran down uncontrollably.
Logan froze in trepidation, unable to react. The crowd watched on without doing anything.
Logan didn't live in this part of town, but he had heard of the notoriousness of these gangs. From what was happening, these people seemed like they were from one of those gangs. What was worse was that only the police could interfere, but they were not close by.
"Are you people just going to watch?" He couldn't help but turn to the men standing in the crowd.
To his surprise, none of them made any effort to even move forward, it was as if they were already used to seeing scenes like this.
Just as the man was about to slit the throat of the young lady.
Bam!
He screamed in pain as he dropped the knife in his hand.
Logan held a small stone in his hand. He had used one of them to accurately hit the wrist of the man, making sure he didn't miss. The sharp pain made the man drop the knife.
The man was about to attack him when they heard the sirens of the police. Without even wasting time, they let go of the young lady, but the man didn't forget to kick her in the stomach heavily before running away, discarding the knife.
Before leaving, the man didn't forget to threaten Logan. Promising to kill his entire family.
Logan felt disgusted by their behavior. When he got close to the young lady, she was surprisingly from their school. He wasn't acquainted with her, but he had seen her a couple of times. She must've been waiting for the bus before these men dragged her away.
He didn't know what transpired, but he felt a little better since he was able to help.
Thinking of the threat of the men, his eyes flashed with a cold bloodthirsty light. For some reason, he felt his blood pumping because of it.
The police took the young lady to the hospital while he left with Castiel and Stephanie.
"That was dangerous, you shouldn't do this again." Castiel warned when they stepped into the bus.
"Should I have let them do what they wanted with her?" Logan asked.
"Not exactly, but what if they had guns? Before the police arrived, then you would've been dead. You're lucky I called them the second I heard your voice." Castiel didn't feel happy with Logan's decision.
He might have saved the young lady from harm, but he placed himself somewhere he shouldn't have. These gang members are known for their lustful and brutal nature. They wouldn't mind tracking down Logan and killing him because of this act.
"You were so brave." Stephanie joined in on the conversation as he held her fist in the air.
"Really?" Logan asked with a smile.
"Yes, those bad guys would've hurt her if not for you." Stephanie nodded her head.
Castiel shook his head. These siblings didn't come out too often, so they could be said to be noobs when it came to how things worked.
Logan was older so he naturally understood that things were not always as they seem.
"Be careful from now on." Castiel could only warn him.
"It's okay, I'll be fine." Logan said while tapping his pocket.
The stone he used in hitting the man was there. He picked it up when he rushed over to where the young lady was.
With his current scene of smell, he would be able to sense the man's scent from over five hundred meters away, this way, if the man was close by, he would be able to know. He brought the stone with him so he could familiarize himself with the man's scent.
He still found it strange that his sense of smell increased by so much.
'I'll have to go back today. I need to find out what happened.' He said to himself.
The only place that could help him with his current state was the woods where he woke up. Maybe something there might be able to juggle his memory.
Castiel went home with him, and after staying for a few hours, he went to his place.
Later that night, Logan waited until Stephanie was asleep before stepping out of their house.
