"Isn't there a way we can at least help him?" Daphne asked.
Logan was a classmate of hers, and although she wasn't really acquainted with him, it still felt odd to watch someone she had seen die.
"No." The man replied while looking at Logan's back, "The wound is too deep and he has lost a lot of blood before we came here."
Hearing the man's explanation, Daphne looked at Logan again and shook her head. A thought suddenly occurred to her and she hurriedly asked, "Wouldn't he turn since the wound is so deep?"
"No, have you forgotten that it was a beta? First of all, its personal rank has not even gotten close to being able to transform a normal person into a werewolf. And as you can see, he clearly didn't have any plans of trying to turn him, he only wanted to kill for the pleasure of it." The man looked at the motionless man who only had shorts on covering his body.
The man was already dead.
Daphne sighed before she turned away. Since there was no way to save Logan, then it was useless to think about it. After all, she didn't really know him. They didn't even speak to each other in the classroom.
They took the corpse of the man, leaving the body of Logan there.
Logan could faintly hear them as they left, he wanted to call out to them, but he couldn't. He could feel his energy dwindling at a very fast pace.
With his eyes closed, a teardrop ran from his eyes when he thought of his little sister. He didn't think that he would die at such a young age. He wasn't even able to tell his sister goodbye.
He finally lost consciousness after a few minutes.
Time went by and a strange occurrence started happening to his body a few hours after he had lost consciousness.
His injury was healing at a speed visible to the human eye. Before long, his wound was covered up completely but he still didn't gain consciousness.
The next morning.
Logan who was sleeping peacefully in the woods suddenly opened his eyes. He raised his hand to cover his eyes from the sun.
Looking around, he was visibly confused as to what happened.
"I fell asleep in the woods?" He muttered.
He didn't have a single memory of what happened the previous night. Although he recalled coming here, he didn't know what happened after that.
When he managed to stand up, he felt extremely energetic. His eyes trailed around and he caught sight of his phone.
"What the hell?!" He exclaimed when he saw that the phone was broken.
When he looked up again, he suddenly jolted when he recalled he left his younger sister alone at home.
He started running back home, completely oblivious to the tear and blood on the back of his shirt.
Their house was the only one close to this part of the woods, so no one saw him as he sprinted through the woods.
On his way home, he paused for a minute to look behind him.
"Strange." He uttered before he started running again, only to stop after a hundred meters.
He knew how fast he was, but presently, he was faster than usual. It was an odd discovery, but he was sure he wasn't this fast before.
With no explanation, he threw it to the back of his head as he ran back home. It hadn't been long since the sun rose, so he was at least thirty percent sure his sister was still sleeping.
By the time he got home, he was met by his younger sister who was standing outside, waiting for him.
"Where did you go?" The little girl asked worriedly.
"Steph, I can explain." Logan put his hands in front of him to try to calm his sister down.
His younger sister's full name is Stephanie, but he preferred calling her Steph for short. Everyone does.
"What's that?" Being very observant, Stephanie saw blood on the side of his shirt and questioned.
"What's what?" Logan asked, a little lost.
"Is that blood?" Steph asked with a shocked expression.
"Blood? Come on, why would there be blood on my…" Logan froze when he saw the blood.
He hurriedly took off his shirt, and what he saw was a large tear on the back of his shirt. The tear was in the form of a claw mark.
Seeing it, an image flashed through his eyes, but it was only for a second and he couldn't get a good view of it. He could feel he was trying to remember something, but he couldn't.
"This… I was attacked by a bear, I think." Logan tried to come up with an explanation.
He didn't have any memory of what happened the previous night, so he was just as lost as his younger sister. But he had to come up with something or else she would never let the matter go.
When Stephanie heard his statement, she was even more worried, "Attacked by a bear?"
She walked around him to see if he was injured in any part of his body, however, there was no injury.
They went inside the house as Logan tried to think of what happened during the night.
Today was Saturday, so they wouldn't be going to school today.
Logan went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the duo. Stephanie was still asleep inquisitive as before, trying to figure out what happened to Logan that his shirt was torn and there were bloodstains on it.
Logan knew nothing about what happened, so he too was trying to find an explanation for what happened. The two siblings stayed indoors almost all through the weekend.
Before they knew it, it was Monday again and they had to go to school. Over the weekend, Logan noticed some slight changes in his body. For example, his hearing was enhanced to a whole new level, he could literally hear whatever Stephanie was saying if he was in his room and she was in hers.
Not just that, but he was more athletic. Being curious, he jumped down from his room's window, and he landed perfectly on the ground without much difficulty.
They lived in a two-story building, so he jumped down from a height of at least 6 meters. It might not be much, but given how easy it felt to him, he didn't think this was normal.
