and now I'll tell a story of two
as we sit and watch the morning dew
about a boy stained in blood
and a girl whose pride was smeared in mud
the boy had crimes weighing him down
he hid his pain with the smile of a clown
he sought peace day and night
his pitiful state was an ugly sight
the girl was kind so she was used
betrayed by friends, her love seduced
deprived of all the things she owned
with her sin of kindness, she must atone
these two meet one day like fate
and fill their voids with love not hate
these souls were toyed with by life
found peace and love became husband and wife
their tale is not a fancy one to tell
it won't be famous nor would it sell
no damsel in distress that a hero must save
just two poor souls that became brave
they learned to gain and not lose
side by side their path they'd choose
hand in hand they'd walk by
towards tomorrow until they die
