Unable to answer, I averted my gaze, giving him all he needed to know. Then I sighed and thinned my lips. I should have said something.
"But this doesn't exactly make sense. I met with him recently. I met him recently before the boon century and he was still the same bastard I had known. I do not see his pride letting such a thing happen…"
"Well, one way or the other…" I said in a half-hearted shrug and sat back, tilting my head upwards to face the flat mosaic ceiling.
"Do tell," he said, amusement creeping into his low voice. "I am curious… and I garner you should have some sort of vendetta against him since you were previously his pet—which is no pretty thing—but you should have or know something to get under his skin."
I softly chuckled. "And what would you do with that kind of information when you happen to get it?"
