Look at her being so stubborn. She suddenly has an unshakable spine now that she has gained some newfound ability. It irked me, but there was nothing much I could do about it at the moment, and rough handling her would be unnecessary, along with leaving a bitter taste in my mouth.
I clenched my jaw as I stared at her small back. I might loathe her, whether she was fully human or not. I wasn't going to make a fool of myself and I wasn't going to hold any nonsensical regrets on how I treated humans. I just despised looking at them in a new light. Now I understood why we saw them as a threat. They had advanced so much on numerous occasions before I had even been born, and no matter how many times they had been wiped out they were relentless, building themselves from scratch.
