We parted ways right at the entrance where a smiling Feila accompanied me past the open archway into a wide courtyard under a starlit sky.
It was more of a field than an actual courtyard and the simplicity of it was beautiful that it took my breath away. The tables and benches glimmered with a soft white glow and strange machines carrying drinks and snacks slowly went about on the carpet grass and cobbled pathways.
Becca had wasted no time in mingling with the attendants and in less than an hour, Saffire had made a few new friends, particularly those from royalty who were also interested in me. May got a few male admirers.
I closely considered Saffire's words the shadow of her conversation hovering over my head as Feila softly chattered beside me. Maybelle sat at my other side too, covering with the Queen as I eyed the gathering.
