Chapter 5 - Aiyo! It's Night Already!

Lin Yibai, who was hiding in the tree, saw the little black dog flying toward Lin Shiqing. His eyes widened, and he sucked in a breath of cold air. Why was there a black Dog all of a sudden? Where did it come from?

"Third sister, be careful!" Lin Yibai shouted, wanting to warn his third sister of the impending danger. Earlier, he had picked up a stone for fun, and now it came in handy. He threw it in the direction of the black dog.

The sound of something breaking through the air could be heard.

At this moment, Lin Bei made his move. In the blink of an eye, he saw Lin Shiqing disappear.

Lin Bei felt quite relieved and comfortable. After all, someone was willing to take care of him, unlike his previous life where he had lived alone.

Anyway, he needed to let go of these vexing things, so he did some simple exercises. He was about to lie down and sleep for a while when, suddenly, he heard a mechanical voice in his mind.

[ Ding! The Eternal Immortal Body has been upgraded to Level 2! ]

[ Ding! Reward: Eternal Immortal Heart technique! ]

[ Ding! Realm increased to Qi Refining Stage Level 3! ]

"Eh? It improved just like that?"

Lin Bei's eyes, which had been a little dazed, suddenly shone with golden light. After all, he was only at Qi Refining Stage Level 2 in the morning, and now, he had advanced by one level after sleeping and waking up.

He had truly reached Qi Refining Stage Level 3! This was a height that his predecessor had not been able to reach, even after several years of hard work!

"Not bad, not bad," he thought. "I can become stronger just by lying down. I was even rewarded with a set of cultivation techniques."

Lin Bei reflected on himself. "But… I'm actually so bored that I want to learn other cultivation techniques? Isn't this abandoning the essentials and pursuing the trivialities?"

He seriously reflected on the mistakes he had made before. He would actively correct himself and not have any expectations for his so-called talent.

After Lin Bei had adjusted his unstable state of mind, he decided to check his personal attributes. The familiar light green interface appeared before his eyes again.

[ Character: Lin Bei ]

"Stage: Qi Refining Stage Level 3"

Cultivation technique: Eternal Immortal Body (Heaven-grade)(Entry)

[ Constitution: Eternal Immortal Body Level 2 (Activated) ]

[ Upgrade capacity: The one-to-one restored clone in the space will practice the Eternal Immortal Body. When the host is lazy, gluttonous, sleeping in, slacking off, and doing other idle jobs, the physique will automatically improve. On the contrary, if the host works hard, the improvement effect will disappear. ]

Lin Bei looked at his improved stats, then crossed his arms and looked straight ahead.

His entire appearance looked exceptionally lazy. However, this time, he did not lose control of his power like the first time. It looked very good this way!

In the blink of an eye, his aura returned to normal. He just didn't know why his predecessor was so resistant to accepting help from the family. He tried to recall, but any memory about this was a little fuzzy.

"Forget it. I won't think about it if I can't figure it out!" Lin Bei stood up and supported himself with one hand on the tree. He carefully read the additional cultivation technique.

Eternal Immortal Body technique [ Heaven-grade ]!

A heaven-grade cultivation technique! Wasn't this the best cultivation technique in the divine martial world?

The cultivation techniques in the divine martial world were divided into unranked, ordinary, yellow, black, earth, and heaven.

Every time a yellow-grade cultivation method appeared in the world, it would be accompanied by a rain of blood. As long as one could master such a cultivation technique, whether it was establishing a sect or a clan, they would have a foundation.

But now, in the technique hall, the cultivation techniques that could be seen by the outer sect disciples were only of the unranked grade. Also, the difference between each level of cultivation techniques was divided into one to ten levels.

Only after reaching the Foundation Building Stage and becoming an inner sect disciple would one be allowed to learn stronger and more powerful skills. Even the Blue Cloud Sect only had a yellow-grade rank eight cultivation method, the "Blue Cloud Technique."

It was rumored that other than this yellow-grade cultivation technique, the Blue Cloud Sect also had several other yellow-grade cultivation techniques. However, this was not known to the public. These cultivation techniques were all regarded as top-notch treasures and would not be taught to non-core disciples.

Regardless, Lin Bei had no interest in these things at the moment. At most, this place only had a yellow-grade cultivation technique. It might not even be a suitable cultivation technique for him.

The attributes of cultivation techniques were divided into red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple. Red corresponded to the fire element, orange corresponded to gold, yellow corresponded to the earth attribute, cyan corresponded to the wind attribute, green corresponded to the wood element, blue corresponded to the water attribute, and purple corresponded to the lightning attribute.

Other than these seven common attributes, there were also the rare yin, yang, space, and time attributes.

However, the Qi Refining Stage had little to do with these, as it was only the simple use of spiritual energy.

After taking a deep breath, Lin Bei finally came back to his senses. He looked at the mental cultivation method on the transparent display screen in front of him.

"The way of heaven damages the surplus to compensate for the deficiency. That's why the false triumphed over the truth, and the deficiency triumphed over the surplus."

Fortunately, he didn't have to cultivate on his own. Otherwise, he would have been persuaded to leave by his first sentence.

"What Dao of Heaven? Dao of Earth? It's not as good as how I muddle through my days!" Lin Bei smiled. Cultivation was too difficult, so it was better to lie flat and be comfortable!

Lin Bei jumped down from the tree branch and moved quickly through the forest. The speed at which he was leaving was obviously higher than the speed before he entered, and it was even several times faster.

Perhaps this was the powerful ability of the Eternal Immortal Body!

"System, what skills does the mental cultivation technique of the Eternal Immortal Body have?"

[ The host has only just entered the beginner level. You can only activate the most basic concealment and hiding skills. ]

Basic concealment? Hiding skills?

[ Concealment: Can hide the host's current strength. Able to adjust the level of perception. ]

[ Hiding skill: Hide your body and disappear without being discovered. (Current usage time: 1 minute) ]

"F*ck! This is simply a pillow just when I'm sleepy!"

At first, Lin Bei was worried about how to explain the sudden increase in level. Now, he didn't have to worry about it anymore as he still looked the same as before.

Lin Bei smiled in satisfaction. Next, he had to find a place without any signs of human habitation.

Soon after, Lin Bei made a few rolls and arrived at a pavilion. On one side was a cliff, and on the other side was a mountain. It was unknown who was so bored as to build a pavilion here. However, most people would not be able to find such a place.

Looking at its dilapidated appearance, it should have been some time since anyone came. This was even better because no one would disturb him. He could have a good sleep without anyone bothering him. Once he was done, his strength would increase significantly again.

Lin Bei was full of anticipation. He glanced at the golden silk quilt that was wrapped around the pavilion. It looked brand new and unopened.

Lin Bei didn't think too much about it. He opened the golden silk quilt and laid it out, then fell asleep immediately.

Just as Lin Bei had fallen asleep, a red-crowned crane with a wingspan of tens of meters flew around the pavilion twice. Looking at Lin Bei, who was wrapped in the golden silk quilt, a human-like smile appeared on his face.

Finally, he welcomed a new friend. He flapped his wings, and a strong wind blew around them, causing the weeds around the pavilion, as well as all kinds of fallen leaves and broken stones, to be blown away.

Eventually, the wind had swept up all kinds of junk and piled them up neatly at the side. If someone were to witness this, they would think it looked interesting.

The pavilion, which had originally looked a little dilapidated, actually became bright. Seeing this, the red-crowned crane nodded in satisfaction. After all, he had to clean up for the guest.

The red-crowned crane retracted its huge wings, then shook its body. Immediately, its huge body shrank several times, becoming as tall as a person.

He walked into the pavilion leisurely.
