Chapter 28 - Skills

Even the most affordable Stamina conversion method was out of my current budget so I decided not to waste my time dwelling on something I could not afford. Instead, find a suitable skill that would help me clear the first floor of the Tower of Trials.

[Skill: Strength Enhancement(Common)

Effect: The user gains one point of strength for 10 seconds by consuming one point of stamina.

Cost: 1000 T-coins

Note: Consuming more stamina will only increase the duration of the skill, not the strength gained.]

[Skill: Strength Reinforcement(Common)

Effect: The user gains a 5% increase in Strength for 10 seconds by consuming 2 points of stamina.

Cost: 2500 T-coins

Note: Consuming more stamina will only increase the duration of the skill, not the Strength gained.]

There were various skills listed in the T-commerce but the most eye-catching of them were the stats points Enhancement and Reinforcement type skills. These skills consumed stamina in exchange for a temporary increase in the user's said stats. There stands a huge difference between the pricing of these two types of skills. Considering the effects of these two skills the pricing was fair. The Enhancement skill can be said to be advantageous for the early levels but in a long run, Reinforcement skills could be considered to be the best choice.

Enhancement skills give 1 point at the very start but that's the skill limit. Whereas the Reinforcement skill gives a 5% increase in stat which at the start is not much but it increases with your level and stat. Just comparing the boost and growth in the stats, Reinforcement skill seems underpriced but taking the stamina consumption into account the prices are fair. Yes, Reinforcement skills were the best in long run, but you had to be alive to enjoy its perks.

Considering the stats points awarded by my meta after a level up the reinforcement skills suit me the best but considering the momentary stat again, it was not the skill I need the most at present. Not to mention there are higher grade Enhancement and Reinforcement skills present.

[Skill: Strength Enhancement(Uncommon)

Effect: The user gains two points of strength for 15 seconds by consuming one point of stamina.

Cost: 3500 T-coins

Note: Consuming more stamina will only increase the duration of the skill, not the strength gained.]

[Skill: Strength Reinforcement(Uncommon)

Effect: The user gains a 10% increase in Strength for 15 seconds by consuming 2 points of stamina.

Cost: 5000 T-coins

Note: Consuming more stamina will only increase the duration of the skill, not the Strength gained.]

For the higher grade of Enhancement and Reinforcement skills the T-coins required to purchase them have literally doubled but so did their effects, but their disadvantages have also become very obvious. And buying an Enhancement(Uncommon) skill seemed to be more useful than buying a Reinforcement(Common) skill. This skill seems appealing keeping in mind that regular trial takers get 2 stat points after leveling up but as a Mortal Reinger with a Unique grade meta, I feel these skills have a very little advantage for me. There were other higher grade skills but they were very expensive as well.

Other than the Enhancement and Reinforcement skills few other skills caught my attention such as the Health Restoration, Stamina Restoration, Rapid Rage, and Stamina Sacrifice. There were other skills too but these are the skills that stood out.

[Skill: Health Restoration(Common)

Effect: User regains 1 health point by consuming 2 stamina points. And can heal minor wounds in the process.

Cost: 5000 T-coins.

Note: The skill has a 1% chance of negating abnormal status 'Bleed.']

[Skill: Stamina Restoration(Common)

Effect: User regains 1 stamina point by consuming 2 health points. And can relieve minor fatigue in the process.

Cost: 5400 T-coins.

Note: The skill has a 1% chance of negating abnormal status 'Drained.']

[Skill: Rapid Rage(Common)

Effect: The user display's twice the physical prowess by doubling the stamina consumption rate.

Cost: 4900 T-coins.

Note: After the skill is used the user will gain the abnormal status 'Drained.']

[Skill: Stamina Sacrifice(Common)

Effect: The user's physical prowess increases by two times for 10 seconds by permanently sacrificing one stamina point.

Cost: 3200 T-Coins

Note: Sacrificing more stamina will only increase the duration of the skill, not the power gained.]

The price of health and stamina restoration skills made little sense considering that we can buy stamina and health recovery potions on the T-commerce for as cheap as 10 T-coins but in desperate times when in battle or out of potions these skills will be a lifesaver. As the enemy won't wait for me to drink my potions or restock them. As for the skills Rapid Rage and Stamina Sacrifice, these skills were peculiar as they came with incredible effects for a cheap price and alarming side effects.

While going through these skills one question came to my mind, What happens to these skills when I awaken my stamina into other enhanced energies such as Mana/Aura/Spirit…? Since these skills consume stamina to activate, will they become obsolete when I convert my stamina into enhanced energy? Apparently not, they will work perfectly fine or even better since they will be consuming the enhanced energy to activate. I don't really know how this works, as this was all I could gather going through various skill info.

When I was awarded 5000 T-coins for clearing the tutorials I thought it was a lot but going through the featured skills of the T-commerce I felt it wasn't enough. Considering that I need to save up for a stamina conversion method, 5000 T-coins no longer seemed that appealing. Come to think of it even on the internet there was no mention of trial takers buying skills. They all mentioned buying various items for what seemed cheaper prices compared to the price of the skills. Taking the difference in the price of the Recovery potions and Restoration Skills as an example the items seemed to be a lot cheaper compared to the skills. Should I consider gearing up by buying some items instead of wasting T-coins on skills that will become obsolete with my level?
