Chapter 9 - Skeleton Minotaur Guard

[Note: The tower will teleport you to the entrance in 4 minutes. Please collect your loot.]

The 3-meter tall Skeleton Minotaur Guard wore all gray armor like the Skeleton Foot Soldier with few changes, of course. Instead of a pair of gray gauntlets, it wore a pair of gray bracers on its bony wrist, and instead of boots, its hooves had shoeing of the same gray metal. And in place of a plumped helmet, it had a custom gray helmet for its Ox head. The Lich King Grayroch hasn't spared a buck in accessorizing his minions from head to toe in all gray.

I had never seen a minotaur up close, especially a skeleton minotaur. So when I gazed into its hollow eye sockets, I felt like I was staring into death. And froze up for a second. It was like when you see a truck running into you. You know you have to get out of its way, but you freeze due to the shock and end up as roadkill. Apparently, this response is natural but the dumbest thing to do in this situation.

*RRRRGGH!!!* Thankfully, the creature's angry roar woke me up like an alarm. It was not happy to see me up here in its master's treasury. So when I tried to retreat a few steps back, it threw its battle-ax at me.

*Swoosh* *Stomp* *Crash* *Stomp*

I hurriedly duck and narrowly escape the giant battle-ax only to find the 3-meter tall Skeleton Minotaur Guard armed to the teeth in all gray armor stampeding towards me with great speed. It had to be using a skill. Fearing for my life, I jumped to the side. Doing so, I got hurt due to the gauntlets and boots strapped to the straps of the pauldrons I had worn. During the landing of my fall, they pressed between my rib cage and the bone stage. The metal outline of the gauntlets and boots bruised me very severely.

Despite the pain, I supported myself and turned to locate the Skeleton Minotaur. Its berserk charge had destroyed the only thing in its path, the bone treasure chest, but It had to stop its stampede at the edge of the bone stage forcefully.

*Groan*

I stood up, groaning in pain, and threw the gauntlets and boots strapped to the straps of my pauldrons on the floor. And then looked back at the Skeleton Minotaur, which sluggish turned to face me.

Comparing my observation of the Skeleton Foot soldier with the Skeleton Minotaur guard, I have concluded that these skeleton monsters have low intelligence and movement speed but showcase high attack speed and enhanced strength while using skills. Their low intelligence was apparent in how brazenly they used their skills. The Skeleton Foot soldier got stuck in a heap of bones, and the Skeleton Minotaur guard almost charged into the void off the bone stage.

Despite their low intelligence and movement speed, they were powerful and not the foe I could face head to head. The only way I could survive this Skeleton Minotaur Guard was by being teleported back to the entrance by the tower. And to stay in one piece till then, I needed to increase my agility, "View Status."

[Stat points: 2 >> 0]

[Agility: 6(-1) >> 8(-1)]

Increasing my Agility stats by two points made me feel lighter despite my large body. But seeing the negative stat next to my agility stat, I hurriedly removed the plumped helmet and threw it to the ground. The helmet gave me three additional defense stats but right now, I needed agility to keep dodging the Skeleton Minotaur till the tower teleports me back to the entrance.

[Agility: 8(-1) >> 8]

In the item slot of my status window, I noticed an interesting prop, which I believe would be able to help me with my current 3-feet tall situation.

[Would you like to open Random Item Bag (Rare)?

(Yes/No)]

Finding the Skeleton Minotaur still at the edge of the bone stage while on the move, I answered, hoping that I would get something that would help me deal with the Skeleton Minotaur, "yes."

[Congratulations! Opening the Random Item Bag (Rare), you received a Storage Bag (Common).]

[Random Item Bag (Rare) >>> Storage Bag (Common)]

"Storage Bag!" It seems my luck for the day had run out here. Not only did I receive the lowest grade item, but it wasn't something that would help me deal with my 3-meter tall problem. Speak of him, "Holy shit!"

*Spring* *Boom* *Shake*

As I turned to see what the Skeleton Minotaur guard was up to, it leaped into the air as if springs were attached to its hooves, and headed toward me. Panicked, I dashed to the other end of the bone stage. Soon the Skeleton Minotaur land on my previous location like an artillery shell which led to tremors in the bone stage. Thankfully it had lost its battle-ax to the void surrounding the bone stage earlier. If it had thrown the battle-ax at me now, I couldn't see it coming busy running to safety.

Having used a skill, the Skeleton Minotaur once again became sluggish, which gave me room for a breather. And then, I checked the Item info of the storage bag that I had just received.

[Item: Storage Bag (Common)

Durability: 98%

Effect: The storage bag has one cubic meter space in it.

Note: The Storage Bag is void of air or moister.]

Turns out I did require the storage bag to store the gray plumped helmet, gauntlets, and boots, I had discarded earlier. It would be a waste to leave behind these items. Especially the helmet. But the only problem was they were at the other end of the bone stage next to the Skeleton Minotaur.
