Chapter 7 - THE REVELATION (PART 2)

Victor walked towards the fireplace. Soon he saw his kid and the boy name Cid standing there. Everyone was gossiping about their daily life. A harsh winter was coming but on this day, forgetting their worries, the people share a glass of beer with everyone wishing for good fortune. This was not a religious event. It was an event for everyone, for the lowest class of people who always had been deprived of every luxury of society.

"Hey kiddo what are you doing, spilling all the beer like that. Come seat with us". He called out to Cid who was staring at the sky like he had seen a dragon in there. After he patted Cid on the back a few times, Cid turned his head towards Victor and said with pale excitation, "Are there Dragons.....?"

.....

Everyone was in a good mood till now. With Victor coming, everyone in the village has gathered here. Although there were only sixty to seventy people. It was a very low number if anyone compare it to earth. But to be sure where he was, he asked the most basic question that anyone on the continent would know. Who even doesn't know about the mighty dragons who ruled over this continent 700 years ago and had been reawakened for the main storyline of the game. If they assume his question was a joke then he had to reconsider where he was but if dragons exist here then It is the game world he had been playing for three years. Because there was not one moon in the sky, There were two huge moons in the sky that he had failed to notice previously of the stormy clouds.

"This is not a good joke young man." But after hearing my question Victor's facial expression changed from happy to complete seriousness. Not only Victor but everyone in the vicinity was looking at me like I had spelled a forbidden word. Seeing me unable to completely grasp the situation, Victor let out a long sigh.!

"Cid is likely to have lost his memories and I also have a suspicion that he is not from here. So I should tell him about that already but it was my fault for not properly understanding the situation."

"But what about the w.....".

"Cid, You can just ask him later, now come and help me distribute the food."

I was just about to ask about the dragonlord but Litha called me to help her, stopping me from clearing my doubts. If it is the game world of the draconian war then the hero of the game should already be awakened because from the faces of these people even an idiot can understand the fear of dragons. But this was the problem. In the story, most common folk was unaware of the fact about the revival of the dragons and only heard some rumors. And then the hero of the story defeated Dahar and all dragons came under his command ending any harsh relationship between the draconian race and humankind.

But the people here had deep hatred and fear of dragons. Even my one ambiguous question mentioning them had changed the mood of all the people here and Victor even have to apologize for the fact.

.....

Ssszzzzz...

the sizzling sound of the grilled meat of the boar came out. Rekan had hunted this boar. The villagers were praising him for that. Among all the people here Victor and Rekan were the strongest. Victor was a soldier so he had a fair amount of experience and Rekan always wanted to be like his big brother. Victor was his idle. Many times brothers don't get along often But for them, it was completely opposite. These two brothers' love was on another level. If Victor moved to the north, Rekan would move to the north following him. If Victor moved to the south he also would be moving in that direction without having a question in his mind. And Victor also deserved that. The age gap between them was big. After their parent's death, Victor had taken his brother's responsibility and raised him like his own child.

If I wanted to describe Rekan , one word would be sufficient for that...An ideal man. He was well-natured, had a quiet and attractive personality, was good-looking, and strong. Many girls in the village were hanging around him like bees around a beehive but Rekan gave them no mind and as always was working diligently. While I was also there no one was beside me and if someone accidentally looked at me, in their eyes there was nothing but reproachful glares. But for me, who was used to being bullied by almost everyone, it was nothing. Instead, I was happy these days. Despite not being blood-related, Victor and his family had treated me like a family member.

"Mother, Is sister not coming today?"

This was Adal's voice. He was talking with Litha in a worried voice. They were just behind me. So I turned my head towards them. Litha stared at me for a moment and then hesitantly moved her eyes.

"You know that your sister is ill. She can't come."

"Why, everyone is here. Every time she has to be ill. She can come for some time I know. You and dad just don't let her." Adal retorted angrily.

Litha's face turned red from anger. Perhaps it was their sensitive topic. I didn't know what they were talking about. But even though I had stayed some weeks in Victor's house, I hadn't seen Lilia often. She always stayed in her own room and barely came out. I didn't know what her illness is. And neither Victor nor Litha talked about it. It was not within my boundary to ask them about it so didn't ask them about it.

Meanwhile, Litha was about to do something about Adal. Thinking about the poor boy I hurriedly called him "Adal, hurry come here, don't disturb your mother. Come here and tell me about this food here."

Adal quickly ran towards me. But he was still angry. So I started to console him.
