Greg opens a portal to the dark and dives in without hesitation. The pull he usually feels on his body is no longer there allowing him to traverse in an instant.
At the same time the Komodo was confused at where it's prey had gone along with the demons watching.
It's senses are sharp with a sense of danger suddenly coming from below. Yet it doesn't manage to react in time as, Greg pops out of the dark world to deliver a heavy hit to its stomach.
Although it didn't do much damage it carried enough force to send the Komodo into the sky. it's body was shaped like a horseshoe in the air as it flew.
The demon goes crashing into the side of the arena.
Seeing his plan worked Greg doesn't hesitate to push his advantage.
Before it can recuperate from the attack, another blow lands directly on its eye. This caused it's eye to pop like a water balloon.
The Komodo roars out in pain however it was cut off.
After The first hit came and quickly one hit after another turned into a barrage of furious blows.
It is like rain smashing against a roof, leaving a cracking sound after every hit. The question is whether it was from the Komodo or from the fists that hit it.
The Komodo has a monstrous healing so he couldn't deal enough damage to kill and none of the damage accumulated.
Yet it couldn't recover from the brain rattling constant concussive nature of attacks. So Greg used this to his advantage to stun lock the demon.
The question is hold long could he hold out?
He isn't hitting a pillow or dry wall. He's beating on a thick hided behemoth of a demon. For him it's like full force hitting a brick wall each time.
His fists ached with sharp pain from cracking bones. However in his hungered state he was completely out of control.
He could roughly give his body intent but whether it would listen or not was a different matter.
He wants to absorb dark energy from the portal below him still his body refused to indulge. He is like a rabid beast that only cares about dealing out pain.
This quickly puts him into a predicament.
Without his mana skin or circulation he gains more and more damage. The bones in his fists crack more and more with each attack while the skin was ripped open.
His arms slightly slowed as a result of the accumulated damage.
This is a chance for the Komodo, as he continues to beat on the it's skull like a drum, it used the brief clarity to subconsciously use it's skill to make it's body slick with poison.
The slickness however had no effect on the enraged Greg.
His punches held extreme accuracy due to the Komodo's head being buried into the wall.
The poison however was incredibly potent being able to penetrate his skin and his fists covered in open wounds made it easier for the poison to travel.
It didn't help that Greg still wasn't using mana skin, instead relying on brute strength.
The poison begins working it's way through his body causing burning pain throughout his fist and arms, on top the stabbing pain.
Greg overwhelmed by hunger just continues to bombard the Komodo with punches.
Yet his punches have started to slow down!
Without hesitation the Komodo takes the opportunity to slam it's heavy tail down on his head. However just as quickly as the tail smashes down, Greg falls into the portal below.
Instead of exiting a different place, he has a better idea. However it was less and thought and more an instinct driven by hunger.
He grabs the portion of the Komodo's tail and bites into it!
The demon roared out with fury as it lifted its tail along with Greg. He doesn't hesitate to swallow the chunk of flesh he took off, even though it's body is slick with the same poison coursing through his veins.
Maybe he did this because he was already infected or maybe it was impatience? Either way he continued to take another chunk.
Prompting the Komodo to try flinging him away. However it had no effect since Greg tightly wrapped his arms around the tail.
He takes bite after bite as the Komodo slams him against even surface it could. The pain and shock from each attack can't shake him.
The pain from the collisions and pain from the poison in his body pounded on his brain like the waves of a storm front crashing against a cliff.
This however was nothing to the boy who knew only pain for a majority of his life.
He feels the poison weakening his body!
How could he last before his body starts shutting down. He quickly found the answer as a new found strength entered his body. He knew this feeling well.
It is the power of [hunger] activating!
His grip grew tighter.
His jaw grew faster.
The meat and skin of the Komodo's tail seemed softer. He bit down at greater speeds and he felt more and more power flow into him.
The effects of the poison subtly began weaken, even though he continued to eat more.
The Komodo tried everything it could to shake him off to no avail. Eventually after another hit the tail came apart. This flings Greg to the other side of the arena.
Greg held the portion of the tail in his hands, which is by no means small and starts biting into it like eating a sandwich.
The demons watched on with twisted awe from seeing the dead boy make a come back and feast on the Komodo demon.
To the demon it is as if he was taunting it. With rage burning in it's eyes it rushes towards Greg at breakneck speed with it's head sideways aiming to bite him in half.
No longer did it outmatch him. He jumps to the side right as the Komodo's jaws were about to entrap him, and delivers a mighty kick to its upper jaw.
This time his attack devastates the demon, crushing its top jaw and sending it reeling!
Greg rushes after it delivering punch after punch, shattering the bones he made contact with with. The Komodo showed off it's impressive healing but it could no longer keep up with the danger being dished.
After smashing enough bones, Greg turned from punch to ripping pulling chunks of flesh and bone fragments and stuffing them into his mouth.
This made him even stronger and his attacks even bloodier! He tore into the body of the Komodo who could do nothing but watch and roar as it was beaten.
Finally one hand manages to pierce through and grab it's core and with a hard yank Greg ripped it out. A torrent a blood follows and pours on Greg, but to him it doesn't matter.
In his hand he held the Komodo demon's core!
It's like a murky green egg with three distinct light green ridges about the size of a basketball. The energy coming off it was tantalizing.
To Greg it looks like a dazzling feast waiting to be eaten, however he holds back.
Then lifts it into the air to show off his work as the Komodo demon plops to the ground with it's final breath coming out like a heavy breeze.
'I wonder if it's the shape or the rings that are making this core look so appetizing.' Greg thought to himself as he stared at the egg like core.
He couldn't tell whether it was his own thought or one brought by hunger, to him it it makes no difference as he swiftly stuffs the egg like core into his mouth.
