Arijit closed the distance between them and stood straight in front of him. "Did you know? My sister whom you want to get married to is in that car. Thank your gods she did not get hurt, else I would have butchered you into pieces." Came Arijit's words.
"I can perceive an empty threat. I'll go see how she's doing," Came his words as he moved towards Arijit's car but he was stopped.
"There's no need meeting her. She is slowly accepting things and I wouldn't want you ruining it." Said Arijit and he lightly smiled.
"Well, it's no big deal, we'll be getting engaged in less than five days so I'm not in a rush to see...." He paused as he closed his eyes before opening them. "Your sister."
"I might as well make you regret this in the future," Arijit said with clenched teeth.
"I'll look forward to it." He said and went back to his car.
Arijit scurried to his car as he didn't want his sister worrying too much.
_____***_____
"Is everything alright?" Samara asked him as he sat in the car.
"Yes, you don't need to worry. It was just a little accident." He said while gritting his teeth.
"But you would have been hurt if it escalated more than that." She said and he nodded.
"True, we should he happy that I'm fine and you're also okay." He said and she nodded.
"We're almost there. I'll just take a turn to the right." He explained to her and she smiled.
Soon after, he was allowed entry into the gate and Samara's eyes widened seeing where they were. I-it's the 'people's place,' she had always wanted to come here but she never had the time. It was because it's security was tight and one will need to book in advance which she knew would take almost eternity so she gave up trying to come to this place.
She looked at her brother who was finding a space to park. She wanted to ask how he arranged it within a short period of time but she reminded herself that he was a CEO, and things like this were little to no problem for him, but her curious side still wanted to ask him. 'I'll do that later,' she noted.
The car came to a stop and the guard who had been silently sitting in the car stepped out to open the door for the lady.
"Thank you." Samara thanked the guard and he politely bowed before standing aside for the lady and his boss.
Samara looked around, almost leaving her mouth agape. This place looks just like paradise, well she hadn't been to paradise but she's sure paradise must look this way. There was no other word to describe it.
They walked hand-in-hand, as they passed different ticket booth. She found everything in here intriguing and she wanted to ride them all, but her brother still had to go to work, else it would cause a little mishap. She was not that selfish. She thought. He took the trouble bringing her here just so she would smile, she didn't want to jeopardize his meeting because of her.
"Do you want that?" Arjit asked her as her noticed her staring at a candyfloss. Slowly, she nodded her head and he ordered for the guard to stand behind her.
"Don't go anywhere. It's too crowded. I'll be back." He said and she smiled while she nodded. Samara couldn't ask for a better brother than the one she had now, he was all she wanted in a brother.
Few minutes later, he arrived with two candyfloss and her eyes slightly widened. Was he really going to take that? The all and mighty CEO?! She thought and heard herself lightly chuckle.
"And what might be the reason behind your smile?" He asked and she shook her head.
"I was just thinking if you were also taking it. From what remembered, you don't like sweets." She teased and he responded with an 'mm'.
"You're taking it?"
"Yes."
"Really?"
"No silly, it's for you. I'm allergic to sweets." He explained and Samara gave him a meaningful look. He handed the both to her. "You won't mind holding the both right?"
"Sure." She said.
They walked in silence until Samara spoke. "Brother, don't you have anyone you love? You should also get married you know." She said and she saw him halt in tracks, before he continued walking.
"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean --"
"I had someone." He said making her raise her brows. He had someone? She had never heard him speak of it.
"She betrayed me. I thought she loved me but was in love with what position I held. I had never loved anyone after her. It's hard to." He said.
"I'm so sorry. I had no idea. You never talk about your love-life and I was just curious." She said and he nodded. She felt bad for him. How could someone betray her sweet brother? She wanted to give that girl a piece of her mind but what's been done cannot be reversed.
"But wouldn't you want to give birth? Children I mean. Father would impose it on you sooner or later." She said and she saw him nod his head.
"When that time comes I won't question father. I know the company needs an heir so it's my responsibility." He explained and she nodded. If her brother could do it, why couldn't she? But her past keeps haunting her and it scares her to be with any man.
Well, this was her fate and she had to accept it. She was the daughter of a former CEO after all, she should not expect less.
"Don't you like anyone at college?" He asked and she shook her head.
"I really don't find them to be what I want. It looks to me like they're all the same." She said and he nodded.
"You should let go off your fear, look at me. I'm not like them, they're good ones outside too. You shouldn't let it weigh you down. I thought we spoke about this." He said with a smile.
"Yes, brother. I won't let the memories of the past keep haunting me. I'm more than that." She said the words he used to tell her.
"Good."
"Brother, you said all men aren't same right? Is Yu Liang different?" She asked and she saw her brother's composure change at the mention of his name. Was there something she was supposed to know because it felt like her brother looked angry right now.
"Brother?" She called out his name.
"Yu Liang. There's nothing you need to worry about. He won't hurt you. I'm sure." He said with uncertainty in his voice. That man was a pure devil and he just hoped his sister would be okay staying with him. He didn't want to reveal how dubious the man was because there was no doubt she'd run away which was not safe.
"But I've heard rumours," She murmured and he asked what they were, as if being oblivious to the fact.
"I would want you not to believe in every word you hear. They are not true. It's just like people calling me the devil but you know who I am right? So you shouldn't worry about those things." He convinced her, he still had no idea he was supporting that devil but somewhere at the back of his mind, he knew he would do nothing to hurt her as her father was no ordinary citizen. At least, that is what he wanted to believe.
They stopped in front of the rollercoaster ride and he placed his hands on her shoulder, assuring her. "You shouldn't have that look on your face. Now smile, everything would be alright." He said as he used his fingers to curve up her lips. She smiled at this gesture.
People nearby, who were watching were whispering to themselves.
"Aww such cute couples. He can't bear to see her sad." A lady said and Samara heard it, her cheeks flushed out of embarrassment. He's her brother for goodness sake! She wanted to cry out loud.
"You should not pay attention to them," he said as he went to fetch a ticket for her.
"I don't think they're a couple. They look quite alike, look at the eyes and nose." One lady said.
"You're right. I should probably have him to myself." A lady said and Samara's eyes widened. Some ladies sure are brave! She thought with a slight smile.
Arijit arrived with a ticket and she thanked him. "Aren't you riding with me?" She asked but she saw him smile awkwardly and shake his head.
"I don't think I'd want that." He said and she didn't insist further. He watched her show her ticket to the guard standing at the entrance and saw her disappear from his sight.
Truth was, he was scared of riding those things. They moved too fast and there was no doubt he would throw up.
He turned towards his guard to see him smiling, he raised his brows and the guard identified as Brown, dropped his smile.
"What's so amusing?"
"Nothing master!" He said and they walked to sit on a bench.
