Walking towards the stairs, she stood still taking in a deep breathe. She could feel her hands turn cold. She had never done this before and it made her nervous.
Taking a step forward, she placed her feet on the stairs only to hear her name being called.
Why now? Of all times in the world, why did it have to be now? She thought to herself as she gritted her teeth and her fists slightly clenched together.
She turned back and gave her mother a very warm smile which Devi found to be daunting and suspicious. Her daughter never smiled this much with her, it made her narrow her eyes in suspicion.
"Is there anything you need mother?" Samara asked, the smile was slowly fading, and Devi's doubt was cleared. This was more like the daughter she knew. Emotionless, she thought to herself, a smile coming to form on her lips which had Samara slightly raise her brows.
