Their trump card was not something anyone had ever fought before. It was the curse mark. A kind of Power that Orochimaru had harnessed from Jugo and plenty of human research and experiment. He had given it to the Sound Four as a last resort. It would increase the user's strength almost doubling it and sometimes even grant new power. Although it was very unstable and the user who felt backlash after using it, Sakon and Ukon didn't hesitate one bit. They might have underestimated Sasuke and Zabuza at first thinking that they were weak border guards but now after seeing the Sharingan and the mist techniques in action, they had decided to go all out.
'At this rate, Sasuke and Zabuza won't be able to reach me and Orochimaru might even leave the forest safely. The plan I made with Haku will also go to waste. If I am going to do something then I need to do it now.' Yami thought as he left his hiding place and started moving swiftly toward the carriages. Among the two carriages, one was full of just luggage like containers, notes, chemicals, and specimens while the other was filled halfway with essentials and the main fighting force of the hidden sound which included Orochimaru, Jugo, Jirobo & Kimimaro. Tayuya and Kidomaru were riding on a horse beside the carriage dressed like simple guards.
Seeing no option but to attack now, Yami started moving closer to one of the carriages. Especially the one that Sol was riding. As he reached a certain distance, he snapped his fingers. The sound of it was immediately noticed by Sol but since his carriage was full of luggage and the other carriage wasn't much close, no one else heard it.
As the sound of the snap fell off Sol's ears, his eyes went blank, and with a sudden jerk, he tilted toward the other carriage and pulled the reigns as well forcing the horses to sway leftward which caused Sol's carriage to slam onto the other carriage.
The horses of the other carriage as well as the solo ones carrying Tayuya and Kidomaru neighed loudly as they saw this. The carriage in which Orochimaru and the others were sitting was tipped off to the side of the road. Something so trivial was never going to hurt Orochimaru and his subordinates but hurting wasn't Yami's plan. It was chaos.
Orochimaru and the others quickly jumped out of the carriage to see where the attack came from. Although none of them felt an attack coming, they still looked around but couldn't see anything.
While Orochimaru's subordinates were searching for the enemy, Orochimaru's attention was on the mess that had spread on the road. His notes, specimens, and precious samples and been rolling on the road crushed and destroyed.
"How the hell did this happen?" Orochimaru asked to which Kidomaru said "The rider of the other carriage suddenly turned to the left causing the crash to happen. Bring him here." Two shinobis dragged Sol toward Orochimaru and left him on his knees.
Orochimaru lifted Sol's head saw his blank eyes and understood what had happened. He looked at Tayuya and said "There is definitely an enemy around us. This guy is under a genjutsu now but when I came out of the cave, he was fine which means that his genjutsu was triggered and for that, the caster needs to use the trigger in close proximity."
Tayuya and the others started to look around while Orochimaru tried to salvage as much as he could from the luggage. "Orochimaru sama we should enter the dense forest and search. The bastard couldn't have gone far by now." Tayuya said to which Orochimaru looked at her angrily and said "A border guard isn't capable of doing this with me being in the vicinity, whoever he is knows who we are and how to deal with us. Don't wander around." Orochimaru warned and 5-6 of his snakes fell from his sleeves and spread in different directions.
Yami tried his best to navigate himself and avoid detection by the snakes or by hidden sound shinobis. Just when he thought that he was in the clear, he felt an attack coming toward him. He quickly dodged the attack using substitution jutsu and changed his location. He turned to the side to look at his last location and saw a big green snake holding a crushed log in its mouth. The snake wasn't one of the snakes Orochimaru spread but it was Orochimaru's tongue.
Even though Yami evaded the attack just in time, he saw that Orochimaru was looking straight at him.
"Just when I thought I couldn't get my hands on an Uchiha, one of them showed up. What a surprise." Orochimaru said while taking his tongue back inside.
"CATCH HIM" Kidomaru shouted pointing at Yami but Orochimaru stopped him and said "It's been a while since I have had some fun. Just surround him for now and don't let him escape. I will take care of him personally." Even though Kidomaru didn't like this solution, he didn't have any option and he instructed everyone to Surround Yami.
Orochimaru in the meanwhile opened his mouth wide. At first, Yami thought the green snake would appear again but two hands appeared from it and held the mouth open to peek its head out.
It was pretty disgusting not only for Yami but even the Sound Shinobis to watch an Orochimaru come out of Orochimaru's mouth. But this Orochimaru was a snake from the waist down. It had the body of a green snake and he slid with utmost ease and covered a great distance in a matter of seconds to reach closer to Yami.
Yami was unfazed by this and waved his hand a few times throwing blades made of wind chakra toward Orochimaru. At first, Orochimaru thought that the blades wouldn't do much as they were hardly visible and Yami had thrown them in a hurry but when the first blade touched Orochimaru's arm and instead of getting destroyed it left a wound and a wave of compressed air, Orochimaru stopped and slid to the side dodging the rest of the blades.
'Even though this kid created those blades in a hurry, they were sharp enough to cut my skin and not only that when the blade was destroyed, it released a wave of pressurized air breaking my momentum completely.' Orochimaru thought. He again sped toward Yami but Yami just kept throwing blades and moving through the dense forest left and right.
"Till when are you planning to play this hide and seek with me kid." Orochimaru said. He was right because Yami wasn't getting anywhere with these attacks. He had to spend chakra to create those blades while Orochimaru had to just move around. Even the attacks that Yami launched, most of them would not even connect with Orochimaru and even those that would connect, the wounds wouldn't be deep enough for Orochimaru to care about it. They would heal within a matter of seconds.
"Just because he got some fame, did he think he is strong enough to go against Orochimaru-sama?" Tayuya asked to which Kidomaru chuckled and said "He is just an overconfident kid whose strength has been exaggerated by the hidden leaf. Watch how Orochimaru sama tear him apart."
"If that's what you think then it's a big mistake." A voice sounded behind Tayuya which suddenly made them turn back.
"It's you…the Tobi guy from Akatsuki." Tayuya said. Kidomaru who had no idea who he was raised him weapons. "The Akatsuki has also got wind of us. We must leave before the others arrive." He said warning everyone to be cautious of Tobi but Tayuya stopped them immediately "Don't get riled up so quick. We met him inside the tunnel…he is here to receive treatment from Orochimaru Sama. The Akatsuki aren't our enemies anymore."
The sound shinobis looked at Kidomaru and waited for his signal. Kidomaru who trusted Tayuya to some extent nodded and lowered his weapons. He glanced at Orochimaru and Yami and asked "What do you mean by a big mistake? The kid is getting played with by Lord Orochimaru."
"That's what he will make you think until he finds a suitable moment to strike." Orochimaru said. He then looked at Orochimaru and said "The kid is planning something so be careful for now."
Hearing this Orochimaru took the warning seriously because he knew that even though Tobi didn't care one bit about him, Tobi needed him to heal his arm.
"I don't like people doubting me. It seems like I will have to stop my fun and put an end to this." Orochimaru said and pounced toward Yami. He had already anticipated all the moves that Yami could make in this situation which included dodging, blocking, and even counterattacking but to his surprise, Yami didn't move a single step nor did he pull out his sword. He just stood there and smiled.
