Jiro didn't know that by forging this sword for Yami he had done a great deed or a crime.
'I have only heard about cursed swords in myths and even the 5 great hidden villages deny their existence. It's said that cursed swords give immense power to the user but also inflict their user's minds making them a killing machine. But in this case, the user as in Yami is the one that inflicted the darkness on the sword making it cursed.' Jiro was thinking while looking at the unconscious Yami lying on the floor. He saw the sword with bright purple veins and a black aura around him on the forge. He tried to touch the sword but it felt like there was something blocking him from even touching it.
'Seems like this sword won't allow anyone to touch him unless Yami holds it and the sword becomes completely his. For now, I will take the kid to sleep and take a nap myself. I can make the scabbard tomorrow.' Old man Jiro sighed and he picked up Yami and put him on his shoulder and left the forge room while locking it from the outside.
The next morning there was a knock on the door of the blacksmith shop. A few seconds later, Jiro saw his son Benjiro, his grandson Samo and Sasuke standing outside.
"Hey, grandpa are you done making the sword? Can I see?" Samo asked fully excited and his eyes were trying to peek inside the shop hoping to see the sword that his grandfather was going to make last night.
"Where is my brother?" Sasuke asked. He had expected Yami to be ready by this time to go to the academy with him.
"Slow down kids...let me talk. The sword has almost been made but I will start the scabbard today. Yami was very tired so he fell asleep. I don't think he will wake up for a few hours. Benjiro you take Samo home for now. Come in the afternoon with Sasuke and by that time the scabbard will be ready." Jiro said in a firm tone and the three standing outside just nodded.
Sasuke brought some food so he passed it on to Jiro and left for school. Benjiro and Samo also left. Although Samo was disappointed that he didn't get to see the sword, he was expecting it to see this afternoon.
Jiro hung a 'CLOSED' sign outside the shop and closed the shop. As he went inside the room Yami was sleeping he saw Yami had already woken up. Jiro sat on the bed in front of Yami and kept the food Sasuke brought on the side table.
"Have this and go take a shower and in half n hour meet me back in the forge." Jiro said.
"Huh? But I fell unconscious yesterday. I thought the forging process must have failed" Yami said with confusion on his face.
"I thought so as well when you fell unconscious but then black snakes appeared from your hand and bit the sword filling it with unknown energy. I won't ask you what it was as I don't expect someone so young as you to know about it and you didn't use it when you were conscious." Jiro said as he left the room.
'So the devouring law essence took over after I ran out of chakra. Let's hope this was all worth it' Yami thought as started to get ready. After taking a shower and eating the breakfast that Sasuke brought, Yami went to the forge room.
The sword was still on the forge and had brightly lit purple veins.
"Yami now hold the sword and stop immediately if you feel any resistance. This part of the process needs to be smooth. Forcing it will only result in a backfire which could prove fatal in your case" Jiro said and Yami nodded.
Yami moved his hand towards the sword and the invisible barrier which was stopping everything else from touching the sword let Yami's hand pass right through as if it didn't exist. He held one end of the sword as it didn't have any grip. Yami held the sword tightly and lifted it up.
"Now do something that calms you and that will, in turn, calm the sword." Jiro said and Yami closed his eyes and started taking deep breaths. As Yami's breathing became steady, the lit veins also dimmed.
Jiro moved closer to the sword and after a few seconds, he was able to touch the sword. He started to feel the sword, the veins, and the sharp edge which formed automatically.
"I will now make the scabbard and the handle for this sword. It will take time so I could use your help kiddo" Jiro said as he took out some materials to make the handle and the scabbard.
Yami and Jiro continued working in the forge room for more couple of hours till it turned 4 in the afternoon.

"So kid, are you happy with your sword?" Jiro asked
"More than happy grandpa Jiro but we haven't tested the sword's capabilities yet."
Jiro patted Yami's shoulder and said "Come with me. We will go to the jungle behind the village"
Yami followed him and after a few minutes they were in a dense jungle. Yami pulled out the sword and simply slashed it through a tree. The tree was cut in half like hot knife through butter.
"Okay now try while using lightning chakra on the sword" Jiro said and Yami used lightning chakra on the sword as he used to do on the wooden sword but the chakra was too high and lightning started flying out from the sword and hitting the nearby trees.
"Kid this isn't a wooden sword. Lower your chakra output by 70%. This sword is made of a type of chakra metal so regulate the amount of chakra you use on it." Jiro scolded.
Yami reduced the chakra output and the sword had blue lightning crackling around it and it wasn't even hitting anything around it.
'Let's try and activate the sword but I don't even know how to do that' Yami thought and suddenly the purple veins lit up turning the blue lightning into purple lightning.
"WHOA KID SLOW DOWN" Jiro shouted as he could feel that the lightning had become 5 times powerful than before.
