"She used the wind to destroy the wind," Dio nodded to himself not realizing what he was referencing. Hina Jaeger, based on the skill she displayed it was clear that she was somewhat proficient, if not, comfortable using wind magic. She was well versed in basic martial arts which was a good option if she frequently used wind magic.
The palm strike to Trey's stomach instantly knocked all the air out of his body, what succeeded after that was a simple air burst that blew him off the stage. A perfect combination of skills, especially to win such duels, other than his mentality and self-esteem there was no other damage that Trey suffered.
"Gerard Blink and Judas Barker, come on up,"
"Once again, don't try anything shady,"
Judas Barker, he stood out from the crowd, not for his demeanor but for how he looked. He was pale, unusually so, he had random symbols etched onto his skin, they were far too illegible to determine if they were runes or not. He had long dark hair with blue highlights, multiple rings on both his hands, and his eyes, barely visible.
"The fuck? Who let him out?"
"Hush! That's rude!"
It seemed as if Dio wasn't the only one who found Judas peculiar, but he wasn't someone who cared too much about one's appearance, however, he looked like he had a storm brewing inside him, as he walked up to the stage, he calmly took his place and waited for the signal.
'Surprise me' Dio thought to himself, he treated everything that unfolded in front of him as a means of entertainment, he sighed as he realized he might just have to wait for a long time until his name is called.
Gerard, on the other hand, looked exactly like his name sounded, he had short hazel hair and was dressed formally, there was no doubt he was a mob character, much like Trey. A mob character versus someone who looked like a runaway emo, it was an interesting match-up.
"You are going to lose," Gerard said in a solemn tone, he pronounced each word clearly and slowly, there was no sort of hesitation or reluctance in his voice, he sounded dead and bored, and rather straightforward.
"I've nothing left to lose," Judas replied, perhaps it was the most stereotypical thing someone who looked like could say. "I've already lost everything,"
'Where's the originality,' Dio frowned and hid his face from the incoming second-hand embarrassment. 'Also what the heck? He's 12 years old or something, what's with his attitude??'
"Begin!"
"Fireball," it looked like Gerard cared more about his articulation than his spell, but even then, the attack had power behind it, it was a properly formed spell, with good density behind it.
"…..Rock" multiple mini chunks of stone formed in the air and intercepted the singular fireball, however, it looked like Judas wasn't done, "and roll"
The rocks that dispersed the fire gained more velocity to them and flew straight into Gerard who took the damage with a straight face. There was absolutely no change in his expression, even as blood dripped down his mouth.
"Who's the lunatic here?"
"What's with this match,"
"I will not lose yet," Gerard coughed up blood but still somehow maintained his slow pronunciation. As soon as he finished his sentence a good-sized piece of rock struck him exactly in his stomach sending him flying out off the stage. Perhaps all the mob characters had this in common.
"I have lost," Gerard got up for a second before passing out.
"You are now closer to becoming like me," Judas nodded and slowly walked off the stage. More than amused or excited the crowd felt slightly weirded out, disgusted would be a strong word, but it felt like they were intruding in an intimate moment.
"I need some spirit in my eyes," Dio groaned, however, just before he could commit to the feeling, he heard a name that caused his head to shoot up straight.
"Alex Glendale and Mob,"
Of course, Alex's opponent wasn't actually called Mob, it was just that Dio was far too focused on his childhood friend to even care, for him, no matter who they were, the likelihood of them being a mob character when they're against her was high, at least for him.
There she was, Alex Glendale, with her annoyingly rich red hair and posture that boasted wit and charm, she pushed through the crowd and walked towards the stage. She pursed her lips and looked towards her opponent. It was obvious to everyone that she was good at what she does, there was no way someone who looked and walked around like her was someone ordinary.
"Begin!"
Dio was no longer seated, he walked over to the crowd on the side and made sure he witnessed every move she made, it was something the two of them always did when they trained. He wasn't fawning over her, nor did he break his character, he still had his hands in his pocket and his back straight, his head was tilted up so he could still get a sense of "looking down on the others", he had no doubt that this match would be a good one, but more than that he was slightly curious as to what she was doing in the crowd.
Just as the match was about to begin, Dio smiled when he looked at her stance, his lips parted and the words "flame dance" escaped his mouth.
"Flame dance," Alex said the very next second and shot forward towards Mob. This was the reason they analyzed each other's moves and skills, it was to improve their perceptive abilities, a side perk of this was that they knew each other's moves so well that it wasn't impossible for one to predict the other's next move.
Flame dance, a spell that enhanced the user's physical ability, it allowed them to move faster while covering the legs of the individual with fire. "Crouch and sweep his legs," Dio muttered and the next second Alex did exactly that.
"Go easy on him, use something like a wind sphere," at this moment, he couldn't exactly tell what she was going to do, it all depended upon her mood and how she felt during the battle.
"Water gnash,"
"Ouch," Dio winced as he imagined how painful it might be, especially from the range she used it. It wasn't lethal but the water would essentially cut into the individual's skin and leave them with a burning or itching sensation. It was more uncomfortable than painful. The crowd erupted into cheers at the magnificent display of skill, the perfect blend of martial arts and magic, she utilized each element perfectly
"Winner Alex Glendale!!!"
