"You were unusually quiet earlier, Dimitri."
His feet stops the trail to the farthest corner of the street and he glances at his mistress, puzzled at her sudden statement.
"I was?" Blinking, he places his finger on his chin, recalling the earlier events. "It would be rude to interrupt your conversation, Miss Maridawn."
She gives a small grunt of disappointment and Dimitri only gives her a dumbfounded look.
"Should I say anything?"
"Well, earlier we talked about fated mates," she says with a tone of nonchalance. "I'm surprised you did retort at such claims from both Miranda and the king."
"What can I say? If it's what they believe, I, as the alpha attendant, have nothing against their beliefs."
Maridawn pouts a bit. "I was hoping you would agree, seeing that not too long ago, we shared the same belief about the existence of the moon goddess."
