Huhuhuh… "Danny, wake up!" Simon saw a young boy screaming those words to a child barely past 8. The kid wasn't moving and the blood wasn't stopping.
What was weird though, was that the young boy seemed to start glowing.
Eyes flickered open and he instantly could tell something was wrong. Simon shot off to the bathroom. The sound of running water filled the room as sweat dripped off his form.
What was that? He knew that his powers pretty much fucked him up mentally but this is crazy.
Looking up, Simon saw a skinny light brown eyed boy. Boy being a loosely used term as he looked like he was barely 14. He couldn't help but notice the nasty scar on his shoulder along with the small marks from his short villain career.
The mirror reflected his dark brown hair and light brown skin, his heart beating a mile a minute.
The fuck was that? HAHAHAHAHA The hell you laughing at?
BOOM!
Simon felt the force of the ground cracking open like an egg. Face turned to his window, he gazed at flames that would make him look like a firefly.
Fuck, fuck, fuck, FUCK! At speeds far above normal, Simon put on his suit and blasted off towards the flames.
Vulcan was on the prowl.
..............................................................................
Iron has been called many things. And those descriptions had nothing to do with the situation he found himself in.
Heat and smoke wafted from the buildings he flew above. Screams and shouts got more frequent by the second.
Swooping down, he grabbed and flew out all the people he could see.
"He needs medical attention," he got the last civilian out of the smoke.
Blond hair popped out from inside of the ambulance van. Medicana rushed to the heavily burned man, blue light flashing from her palm. She set him down and covered the injured man with the light. "Will you be going back in there?"
"Don't really have much of a choice now do I?" He actuated this with a big smile on his face, taking one last look at every hero trying to help out before flying back into the smoke.
The destruction Iron was seeing did nothing to relieve his fears. It wasn't long till he saw the cause of the destruction. An abandoned warehouse that threatened to fall on itself.
He flew into the wreckage and got inside the building "Please help me" hearing this with the voice of a crying child in the middle of it. Beside the child was what looked like a person wearing a bird mask over their face.
The bird masked being turned his head towards Iron's direction before putting his palms up. Warning bells fired in Iron's brain but he didn't move from where he was standing.
Iron is somewhat familiar with the masked man. A villain by the name of 'Vulcan,' a short male who covers his body with a black cloak. He never talks, and barely moves unless prompted.
Overall a creepy dude.
Flames shot towards him, not surprising considering Vulcan is known to burn all of his encountered victims.
The hot scorching flames passed over him like water sliding off a duck's back. Iron is one of the few superheroes with very high damage resistance, scratch that, Iron is nigh invincible.
Vulcan seeing this directed his palm to the child.
Iron slapped away the smoke and flames before he moved. A bullet is simply an understatement to describe the sheer speed and force.
Smoke surrounded him but Iron was not deterred.
A fraction of a second was all it took before he could get to the child. More smoke clouded his vision and before he knew it Vulcan was gone.
Not that he lost sight of him or that Vulcan was already at the door. Vulcan simply vanished, out of his senses, out of his mind, and definitely out of the building.
One of his powers maybe? He wanted to chase but knew that the child is his current top priority.
So there he was, questions on his mind the smoke rising to the sky.
.........................................................
Simon managed to escape from Iron. It was not something he thought was possible. He thought back to the dream he had and how heavily correlated the events and the dream were.
Questions flooded his mind but he decided not to think about them too much. It might be powers he doesn't understand yet or something else like a supe messing with his mind.
Either way, he doesn't know what it is so he isn't going to worry himself.
Shooting around all the wreckage proved itself easy as he navigated away from the explosion wreckage. The only reason he could escape was that he knew Iron being a hero would rather get a civilian to safety than chase a potential threat.
Stupid set of priorities but no one said heroes were actually smart. He decided not to go home because he didn't want anyone tracking him; Iron was not the only hero on the scene.
He wanted to get far away from here as quickly as possible. Simon sped up until everything else became a blur, his body being a lot more resistant than it looked.
He found himself a motel, with the little money he had on him he was able to pay for a room for the night.
The room was dirty and poorly managed but it beat going to school. Simon took off his shoes and switched the TV on.
It had a blond woman reporting the explosion and events that had taken place. She was interviewing Powerhouse, it was quite comical seeing him bend over to talk into the microphone with him being more than three times her size.
"Today can be counted as a win for us all, there were few casualties, and thanks to our amazing medical team, the injured would be healed and sent to their respective homes and families." A cookie-cut answer, the PR told him to say that most likely.
The blonde woman took back the microphone "Well that's all here Jim, back to you." Simon tuned out whatever 'Jim' was going to say. All he cared about was how he was going to release the flames again.
