Talitha belonged to a long chain of prophetesses who had served the past kings during their reigns over the decades. Young females who belonged to this lineage and were chosen were to be groomed and guided by the existing prophetess who would guide and teach them in the gift. They had the unique gift of seeing into the future and prophesying what would happen. Apart from that, they also could see into the past and present, but these abilities were restricted. The line of prophetesses emerged from the Lee clan who had the ability to heal. Once in a decade, a young female would be chosen naturally to be the next Prophetess who would hold the special gift.
These were females destined to yield great power in service to the Diatoran kingdom.
In the palace, Queen Xenia stood angrily in the throne room in front of the nine Knights she had sent out to find Craig. They had literally searched the entire Kingdom except for one place, only to find nothing.
"How useless. Is it that hard to find just one knight who escaped the dungeons?" she scowled angrily.
"You should have gone out yourself to find him if you were so competent." came the sharp words from Gael who was also present in the throne room.
Xenia glared at him.
"How is it that a single man escaped from my clutches and no one knows of his whereabouts? We've searched all over the kingdom. It appears as if he vanished into thin air." Xenia reasoned before her expression changed and her face lighted up as if a kid who was given her favorite candy.
The prophetess! How could she forget?
"Ah, the prophetess, what's her name again?" she said tapping her fingers on her forehead as if remembering the name." Talitha is it? Send for her. Quick!" she ordered the guards.
Gael, realizing what her sister was up to parted his lips to speak but Xenia did something that stopped him from advancing.
"No. I will see her myself." she stopped the guard as if on second thought and started walking towards the doors of the room. Gael followed with Elias and two other guards, knowing that things could turn dire between the two women, with Talitha who had refused to help find Craig, and Xenia who was hellbent on finding Craig no matter what. Things could turn worse.
Not very far away from the cave under the bright blue night sky. Talitha and Craig stood. The two held hands over the dazzling bright crystal placed on the ground in between them with Talitha muttering something beneath her lips. After a while, she brought out a small brown wooden box with intricate carvings on it from a leather bag beside her. She opened it and in it laid the last Leos pendant.
The pendant looked ordinary but once she placed it around Craig's neck where the collar hung, muttering a few words, it started to sparkle, transmitting different colors of bright light. Instantly, there was a click sound and the metallic collar that hang around his neck dropped to the ground hitting the grass where they stood. Craig bent and picked it up looking at it for some seconds before handing it to the Prophetess.
"I'm sure it will come in handy in the future. Keep it."Talitha stretched her hand and took the collar from Craig's hand, placing it in the leather bag that lay on the grass beside her where she had removed the box containing the pendant.
Craig was completely stunned by the sight of the sparkling pendant around his neck, he raised his hand to touch it only to be stopped by the prophetess.
"Don't," she said causing Craig to retract his hand to his side.
Before Talitha could proceed, Craig spoke."How do I find the King once I'm out there?"He had thought about how he was going to find the King amongst all those people in the outer world.
Talitha answered in a calm voice,
"The pendant will guide you. It has a direct connection with the king. He is of royal blood."
Craig nodded, relieved that he would not be lost in a world he had never been to.
Both of them held hands again while Talitha proceeded with the ritual while the crystal ball underneath them sparkled along with the pendant around Craig's neck.
At the same time, Xenia and Gael arrived near the cave, spotting the prophetess standing with someone and muttering something.
On a closer look, Xenia as well as Gael recognized Craig. Xenia barked at the guards realizing what was going on.
"Get them!"
The guards run in their direction, but Talitha who had already spotted them sped up, with her mutterings getting louder and rushed.
In a matter of seconds, Craig disappeared into thin air with a huge blast of lights before the guards could grab him. The force from the blast made Talitha and the two guards who had come to cease him fall to the ground with a huge thud. Talitha flinched, feeling the impact of the heavy fall. The next thing she heard was the loud scream of the Queen.
"NOOOOO!"
