Chapter 39 - Never judge a book by it's cover

"You'll not be getting a drop of mine or Evelyn's blood" He spoke with a deadly glare pulling evelyn backwards

"why do you always have to be so difficult Leonard?." Alexander asked with a smile clicking his tongue in distaste and disappointment before walking away leisurely in long strides startling both Leonard and Evelyn.

The white haired girl couldn't be more relieved to find Alexander finally loosing interest and walking away however Leon on the other hand frowned deeply knowing Alexander to be one who never lets go of his prey so his sudden exit didn't make any sense.

"Whatever you are up to Alex, leave Evelyn out of it." he warned Alex who halted in his tracks hearing his words

"We both know I'd be lying if I agreed to it." he said with a chuckle before turning his gaze at evelyn who clutched Leonards clothes tightly visibly terrified of Alex's calm yet evil precedented stare.

"oh and Leon, do not let this repeat itself ever again, I'll not tolerate this spell a second time." he spoke which Leon blatantly ignored as the pretty boy had started walking in the opposite direction with his hands intertwined with Evelyn's pulling her along.

Alexander stood still watching the exiting figures with a crooked smile on his face knowing he had found a new rat to chase and play with, evelyn.

"What exactly are you Evelyn and what devious secrets are you hiding?." he asked inwardly, a malicious smile coming to settle between his lips, the heavy rainfall had finally stopped but with the thundering sounds still echoing it made the motionless figure as intimidating and vole as one could imagine.

"Stop I'm not walking further until you tell me what's going on?." Evelyn spoke in fury forcefully pulling her hand away from his grip, they had been walking for the past five minutes with Leonard refusing to alter a single word, he appeared as brooding and annoying as ever as his jaws tightened and twisted in repugnance every once on a while, noticing her halted steps the pretty boy slowly turned his gaze towards her, staring intently at her, all the while maintaining his silent treatment.

"Answer me Leon!" she half yelled at him "What the hell is going on?, what happened to the students?, why did Alexander refer to Asher and scarlet as witches?, what does Alexander wants with me?, how did you teleport back there? why are your eyes red?." she bombarded him with question feeling her heart beat increase drastically in anxiety and panic.

"Breathe evelyn," he finally broke the silence pulling Evelyn in for an embrace as he rubbed her back in circular motions trying to calm her distressed nerves "Sit let's get your hands fixed." he said gesturing with his hands towards a big rock

"you don't have any first aid tool." she said with a slightly raised brow slumping her butt on the big rock, a slight chuckle escaped the lips of Leonard hearing her words as he crouched, his reddened eyes returning to its usual deep blue beautiful eyes.

"I don't need a first Aid tool." he said with a smile gently taking her wrist making her wince in pain

"Ouch!" she whimpered with his touch as she tried retracting her hands from his

"Stay still, stop being a baby." he scolded lightly earning a deep frown from Evelyn

"Says a rich spoilt brat whose being pampered his whole life, and have never probably even had a scratch his whole life." due to her riled up emotions filled and distressed with deep frustration fear and anger at her whole situation she had subconsciously blurted out harsh words at Leonard, realising her mistake she immediately apologised "I'm sorry I didn't mean...."

"You are quite far from the truth evelyn, it's as the saying goes never judge a book by it's cover, and things and never what they seem." he said with a lopsided smirk as he continued "I'm no stranger to pain Evelyn, I have been tortured more times than I can count." he said with a chuckle with Evelyn's eyes widening in shock at his words.

"But..but you are a Donavan," she said lightly

"It's as I said Evelyn things are never what they seem." he added before gently placing his palm on her wrist which created a green like glow

"What are you doing?, how are you doing this?." Evelyn asked in disbelief noticing the intense pain on her wrist slowly fading away

"Magic Evelyn." he replied with a wink standing up from his crouched position

"Wait what?," she said in shock "what Alexander said about witches was all real?, are you.....one of them?." she asked hesitantly even though she already knew the answer, he couldn't possibly be human to have such an insane speed and red irises besides no human could heal a broken wrist as he had done a second ago.

"Half witch." he corrected her "You don't seem suprised or afraid."

"I already believe in the supernatural." was her simple reply, being a girl gifted with the ability to predict death she could already guess that perhaps the supernatural world did in fact exits with hidden creatures hiding from the public eye, one of which were the witches, still never had the thought crossed her mind that she would one day be meeting one, a powerful one at that being able to erase people's memories if what Alexander said was true of course.

"Did you erase everyone's memories?." she asked haltingly

"Yes." came his short reply pulling out a cigarette from pocket and lighting it with his snapped fingers, a trick which left quite an impression on evelyn as she couldn't help gawk in admiration at his trick and how impossibly drop dead gorgeous he looked with his wet hair and full on black attire.

could being a witch be the reason why he was so insanely hot?, she asked inwardly, Alexander had also said Asher and scarlet to be witches which would also explain their extreme good looks as well, in contrary to her belief she had initially thought the witches to be ugly and vile creatures, who would have thought they were the most beautiful of creatures.

"You never asked what other creature I was." Leon said with a smirk puffing out smoke from his mouth making evelyn cough as she found the smell of cigarette quite appalling.

"What do you mean?." she said between coughs

"I said I was an half witch, meaning there's a second half."

"human right?." she asked with a frown

"Guess again." he said with an amused smirk making evelyn furrow her brows deeper, she really did not know of any other supernatural creatures in existence, most she had heard of were nothing but myths and fairytales, the witches were the only supernatural creatures she believed to be true, well until now it seems.

"I...don't know, what is the second?." she asked softly feeling a little tensed from his presence afraid as to what other creature the handsome devil could be

"I'm a Lycan Evelyn, popular known to your kind as the mythical werewolves." he said as Evelyn eyes widened in incredulity at his words.
