Nick drove for a good deal for who knows how long, all he knew was that by the time he came to the one and only residential building, it was already noon. The wilderness around the house wasn't just reclusive it was outstandingly terrifying—— as he got out of his car, Nick heard many birds scatter with fierce cries like they too were annoyed by this new visitor who came to see them.
He stared at the tall trees and the sunlight filtering through their canopies. This should have brought peace to him, the chilly breeze of the approaching autumn and the serene calmness but he didn't feel anything of the sort. The only thing that was searing through his skin was nothing but fear, he didn't know why he was afraid but something about his surroundings made him feel like he was being watched.
