Scarlet's Point of View
I hugged him tightly. He felt so much better now that I knew how he really felt about me. It was so much easier now because after all this time, I finally knew what the right choice was. Uptil now, I wasn't even sure if I should be with Xavier or Max. Because of Drew and the choices I had made to keep him safe—even if I failed miserably—had led me between two of the most dangerous men one could meet in the United States.
To think that either of them had the heart to love me was stupid, but relevant. Relevant because some times, something don't make sense—not as much as they make us feel.
"Xavier…" I whispered, finally pulling back. "How have you been?"
He kept his hands on my cheek. "A lot better now, Scarlet. How—how are you?" His eyes were filled with concern and his voice was softer.
"I am fine. I am—I am glad I am here."
He smiled as he hugged me again. "So am I, Scarlet, so am I."
