"What?" Matthew didn't know if he had simply heard the guardian confess something like that. Did the man just nonchalantly say those words? Or… was this a hallucination? An illusion? Was the guard trying to trick him?
"You heard it right. I made a mistake and created a life that shouldn't have existed."
"What are you— " Why would the guarding tell him something like this? He had a sudden sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. "Why would the guardian tell me this?" it was supposed to be a secret.
"No. This isn't a secret." The Guardian said. "The rest knows about my mistake of falling for a mortal but they didn't know about the child. Yet."
Matthew frowned. What the hell does that mean?
"No need to fear. I did not call you here to harm you. I simply want to ask for a favor in exchange for… letting you stay in the realms of the mortals."
"A favor?" Matthew already expected this.
