The dinner was a bit quiet.
Riane figured this was because everyone was tired. Of course, she tried to engage Matthew and even Ava in a conversation but both ended in awkward silence. After dinner, Matthew, Ava, and Francheska just went back to their tent without even saying a word to them.
Obviously, this didn't go too well with the other werewolves.
This history between werewolves and lycans is a bit complicated. Lycans always see themselves as the stronger version of werewolves, the more perfect ones. In the past, the Lycans had tried to assert authority over the Werewolves but that didn't actually end well.
Their King refused to give the Werewolves the respect they thought they needed. That man didn't even want to acknowledge the werewolves as he thought they were 'lesser' creatures.
