Chapter 1 - Chapter 01

At the eastern border of the Alvares kingdom, deep in the shopping district of the fortress city Windyfields, a certain establishment exists.

It was a mediocre place with no fancy qualities, yet it had regulars who would stop by after every day's work to enjoy a meal alongside some of it's cheap yet still good ale. However today doesn't seem to be one of those days.

A crowd had formed around the entrance, but no one dared to step inside. They peeked their heads to watch from the windows as the owner filled one cup after the other from his expensive wine collection that never left the upper shelves.

Sitting at the counter a certain youth downed each cup placed in front of him with a single motion. Him slamming his hand on the old wooden counter was what kept all those people out. The youth was in a bad mood and they all wanted nothing but to stay out of it literally and figuratively. He would drink, stops to enjoy the taste then brings the next cup to his mouth.

The owner didn't hesitate in his work. Like everyone else he knew who the youth is, and like everyone else he knew fully well what would happen his head isn't cool.He also knew that no amount of alcohol would have an effect on him, and thathe had really deep pockets.

The youth didn't come by very often, and he rarely came alone, but whenever he is around, he always made sure to empty the tavern's storage.Usually people wouldn't mind his existence, his reputation wasn't bad enough for them to want him out. However, times have changed, everyone were afraid to be associated with him.

"Make way!" a rough voice yelled, splitting the crowd away from the entrance.

Heavy steps resounded on the stone floor accompanied by the load clanking of metal. A group of stern-looking men entered the tavern. The group was equipped in a uniform of full plate armor over a chain mail that didn't seem to have left the blacksmith's handsthat long ago. The swords at their belts didn't appear to often leave their sheaths as well.

They formed two rows and performed a salute as two other men walked between them. One was head and shoulders above the others in terms of build and wore the same uniform. The other one didn't feel the same. He wore armor of higher quality and better appearance, however he looked so slim and skinny that one would think his back could snap like a twig from all the weight. The eight knights in shining armor came to protect their people from the danger that sat quietly at the bar.

"Is that it?" said the fancy looking knight, his eyes on the youth.

One of the company came forward and raised his hand, a small golden bell hung down from it. He brought it closer to the youth, the owner slowly backing away as he did. Not a second later the bell started moving slowly making a faint chime.

"Indeed, my lord, it is it,"said the man before moving away.

The fancy looking knight raised his hand, the rest took it as the signal and draw their blades.

"You, the one sitting there," he took a step forward and followed, "you should already know that your kind isn't welcomed in these parts.Leave this place at once or there will be consequences!"The man tried to appear as brave and bold, but the sound his shaking legs made told stories about how frightened he was.

The youth acted like the matter didn't concern him and simply continued sipping from his cup.

The crowd silently watched, and with all those eyes directed at him the fancy knight felt dirt being thrown on his face every second the youth ignored his call.

"I'm talking to you! Boy with the weird hair!" he said taking another step to the front, one of many actions he would soon come to regret.

The youth raised his hand and the man jumped back readying to draw his blade."Owner, my cup is empty." said the youth without a care in the world.

The owner stepped in and filled the cup again "Uh…. I know it's none of my business but…don't you think you should at least answer the guard captain's call?"

"Hm? The guard captain? Where?"

"Well…" he didn't dare to say it.

The fancy looking man is infamous between the Windyfields people as the new city guard captain. He has only just assumed his position, yet his fans could be counted on one hand. And for good reason.Being ignored made his blood boil. No one dared to disobey his orders so far, so when someone, no, when this thing went against him like this, his anger took the better off him.

"ENOUGH!!" he shouted, "For trespassing on the fortress city,Windyfields, your crimes against the holly tree temple and most importantly obstructing the work of authority…" Light flashed in front of his face" I place you under arRRYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Blood burst out a red line running across his face. The sudden surge of pain and the red color caused him to faint. He fell on the stone floor with two very angry eyes staring down at him.

"No one insults my hair" The youth said, swinging the sword at his hand to clean the blood off its tip. "No one"
