That had been a lot easier than expected, perhaps too easy. Still, Jake had a direction now, and he could worry about things after heading there. In any case, during the whole time that Jake was moving away, the trolls kept their eyes on him. They sure were suspicious, but what it was weird was the fact that they weren't as violent as he had imagined.
When he had the chance, Jake climbed some trees and looked around to see if he was being followed, but he didn't see that. Maybe he was being paranoid since now some of his fellow humans were hunting him for the memories of those bodies that they had. Still, Jake didn't drop his guard while he advanced.
