As soon as the last sentence made it out of her mouth, a soft moan reached her ears, and Alita's hand in hers twitched. She abruptly lifted her head, and her eyes stretched when she caught sight of Alita's grey orbs looking around in confusion.
"Alita?" Alexa called, springing to her feet. Her heart was beating so loud due to her excitement, she could hear it in her ears. "You're awake." She uttered, barely loud enough for another person to hear her even if they were in the same room with her.
A relieved smile appeared on her face when Alita's eyes veered toward her direction.
"A-alexa?" Alita's voice came out hoarse and broken. Her face was twisted into a frown as she kept her gaze on Alexa, who was smiling at her.
"Yes. It's me, Alita." Alexa nodded happily, unlinking their fingers so she could get water for Alita after noticing how rough and scratchy her voice sounded. Her throat must be extremely dry after not having water for days.
