As Axel and Asher got closer to the part of the dungeon where King Gregory was imprisoned, Asher wrinkled his brows and halted his movement. He held Axel's arm to stop him from moving further.
"Listen. I think they are scheming." He whispered, and Axel listened closely.
"I'm sorry, your Majesty. I just don't want any harm to befall my family. If I die knowing they survived, I will die a happy man. But knowing they died because I unnecessarily dragged them into something like this, will haunt me even in my grave." Henry explained, wanting no part of what the king just suggested.
"When did you become a coward, Henry? This was why I wanted a guard that had no family ties. Where does your loyalty lie?" King Gregory lashed out, his voice booming with anger.
"I'm still loyal to you, your Majesty. I just don't want my wife and daughter dragged into this. We can get a guard to–"
