Alita's head bobbed up and down in response. She had missed him, even more than she actually expects.
"Say it. I want to hear you say it." Axel demanded, his voice dropping a few octaves.
"I... Miss you." She confessed, finally tearing her eyes away from his bewitching face. The words glided off her tongue easier and smoother than she had anticipated.
The sides of Axel's lips quirked up ever so slightly, one would need to be looking at him closely to notice the ghost of a smile that crossed his features. Warmth slipped into his heart, one he recognized as being missing in his life so a long time.
The satisfaction he got from hearing those words spill out of her mouth without reservation or thinking about it for some time, was incomprehensible. Right then, he knew his days wouldn't have been so dark if he had found her earlier.
However, it wasn't too late. He would enjoy this, now that he had it.
