Within a short time, he was out of the gate. Louise stood with a tinted eyeglass, and she held a woven basket in her hand. When he first saw her, she put up a serious face, then she grinned as he closed the gate and reached for her.
"Wow, Louise, you came".
"Yeah". She took off her glasses and revealed her eyes which was even made darker by the shadow of her long eye lashes cast by the sun.
"They never let me in though", she said in a childish tone. He laughed and turned to the gate behind him.
"Look here". He pointed to a notice on the gate which read "NO PROTECTIVE WEARS NO ENTRY".
"Yeah, I saw it, but never mind". She waved rapidly. "Look, I brought you fruit cakes, it's honey and strawberry flavoured". She held out the handle of the basket with both hands. "And a bottle of La Margaret". She winked.
