The door shut behind them and they were left to the mercy of the house, which now took the form of a normal sitting room.
They expected to see someone in there, judging from the fact that they were spoken to, but they saw no one.
"Hello," Launa said, looking around the house.
"Whom do we have here?" They saw a lady in a brown sweater and jean trousers coming out of one of the doors on the wall.
They were surprised to see her in that attire, they expected to see her in a black, threadbare cloak with a crooked hat on, as was a typical dressing of a witch, but it was a direct opposite.
"Were you the one who talked to us some minutes ago?" Itsuki asked.
"You can have a seat," she said to them, Ignoring Itsuki's question.
She sat on a soft brown couch and folded her legs.
"So I heard you guys were sent by Dumble and Herrik," she said.
"Yes," Launa said in difficulty. "What problem do you have with them?"
"Especially Herrik, he always comes around my backyard to steal herbs. This is one reason I tightened the security around my house," she said.
"Surrounding it with a portal-repelling aura?" Expresso said.
"They told you that as well?" She said.
"Well, yes," Expresso said.
She laughed in cracks. "Let me start by saying, I'm Jona."
"Lady Jona," Itsuki said. "Such a milf," he said into Six's ear.
"They must have told you a lot back there," she said.
"Yes, alot of things. Starting from the states of the hiona wolf to why we need to seek your help," Marie said.
"Interesting. You know, I'm also on the path of saving humanity from what's happening," Jona said.
"Really, you've got the serum?" Fern asked.
"What serum?" Jona asked.
"The life serum of the hiona wolf of course, that's what have thrown her descendants in rage over the years," Trevor said.
"Yes, the life serum was stealthily extracted from her," Fern said.
"Wait, you've got no serum, so how do you think you can solve this?" Kahil said.
"I've tried to perpetually keep her in her drooling state, I guess you know that one," Jona said.
"We were told of that, but how would that help?" Marie said.
"In the drooling state, she surrounds herself with a drooling aroma, and this causes her descendants to be in her proximity, therefore, reducing the amount hunting down humans," she said.
"Haha, that's a very dumb way to stop her. Not every descendant would be close to her," Kahil said.
"And what makes yours better than mine?" She asked.
"All it takes is to get close to the hiona wolf and find a way to inject her life serum into her and she'd be a mother again," Kahil said.
"Then go ahead with your plans," Jona said.
"We can't do it without you," Launa said.
"Really?" Jona said, brows raised.
"Yes, we came to you for something very important, more like a protection," Trevor said.
"It was revealed to us by the dwarves that the hiona wolf is in it's aura state, which could be lethal to anyone who comes close to her. So we came to you for a protective aura," Launa said.
Jona laughed a bit. "And you think I could do that at the moment? I'm short of the ingredients for it now."
"And there's no other way you could help in this?" Trevor asked.
"The only way is two or more of you guys volunteering to get me the ingredients, then I prepare it?" Jona said.
Six and Kahil looked at each other.
"Where do we get the ingredients?" Kahil asked.
"I don't know if you've heard of the splinter worm. Have you?" Jona asked.
"Uhm, no," Kahil said.
"Inside a cave not so far from here, these worms inhabit. Their fluids are what I'd use to prepare it. I've got the rest of the ingredients in my garden at the backyard," Jona said.
"Just worms?" Itsuki asked. "We could go get them, yeah!"
"Not just worms. Firstly, when they sense intruders they saturate the cave with a foul odour that could knock you off, and you might wake up not seeing your body in good shape," Jona said.
"This sends chills through me," Fern said.
"That's why I haven't gone there since I lost my dog, Momo. Dogs are immune to the fumes and their acidic fluids. Momo kills a lot of them and renders them harmless," Jona said.
"That's so sad, he must have been a very close friend," Marie said.
"Yes. I still haven't recovered from the trauma," Jona said.
"What killed him?" Expresso asked.
"Discussing this would bring back bad memories, please," Jona said.
"Okay, okay, it's all good," Expresso said.
"Could a wolf be immune to it?" Launa asked, stroking Glowie's back.
"Of course, a wolf is a kind of dog. It never occurred to me that the wolf here could be instrumental. Was driven by emotions," Jona said, rubbing her forehead.
"So, could you give us directions to the cave?" Six said.
"Behind my house is a descending hill. At the foot of the hill you see the cave," she said.
"The hill makes it more scary. If things go wrong it would be difficult to run for safety," Expresso said.
"Are there any other things to be wary of?" Marie asked.
"Not at all, the worms are the only things you've got to deal with," she said.
"They're just worms though, we can do it," Kahil said to Six.
"Have you asked of the size?" Fern said.
Jona tightened her fist and held her elbow with the other hand, showing them that the length is from her fist to her elbow, and the size is nearly as large as her hand.
"I'm so not going there," Expresso said.
"No one said you're coming, Expresso," Six said.
"He seems to have a phobia for everything," Trevor said and laughed.
"We can do it is all we can say now," Kahil said, stiffening his chin.
